I know that a lot of people want to set up private blog networks so that they can rank much higher in the search engines due to the fact they have backlinks on each of the blogs.

But have you ever thought about setting up your own blogging platform to do the same thing?

Coding everything from scratch would be a pain in the butt, that's for sure. But there are some pretty neat things out there that you can use and set up your own platform in a pretty quick timeframe.

Ever heard of wpmudev.org? If you haven't, I highly suggest you go check them out. They have a ton of awesome plugins that you can have access to for a small monthly fee. Hi Razzy. Ok so call me dumbo but why would you want to hide the fact that you are using a Wordpress website?

I am a novice here in this regard because I have only ever used Wordpress. I love it and I enjoy using it.

I can't see how coding my own website would be beneficial to me at all, it would just make the job completely impossible to complete. Yes I can write some very basic html but that is it.

Well this is a system that you can set up so it's like you run your own wordpress.com or blogger Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

It's your own network and people can come register and possibly upgrade and pay you for an ad free blog Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

You're basically promoting a free blogging platform for anyone to come and register. The beauty of this is that you can target any niche like animals, sports, seasons, holidays, etc. Like if I wanted to set up a blog for animals I could go to ThisSuperAwesomeBloggingPlatform.com and register a free blog, and oh hey! I can upgrade and use my own domain and remove all the ads for a small monthly fee! And it just so happens that you run the blogging platform that they're registering on Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

That does sound way cool! So I could actually set up that people register with me to learn how to blog and get a free blog?

So if those free websites have ads, I earn all the income from those ads?

Correct

People can set up blogs with you and you'll be the administrator who "sets up" everything Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

I don't think you'll actually have to do anything because the plugins automate a lot of it lol Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

You can put ads like adsense or BSA (buysellads) up on the free blogs or you can just put a few links aimed at your own services in the footer. It's really up to you how you want to monitize everything Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

Oh yeah. Wpmudev was free years ago and it was only one plugin called wpmu which was allowing WordPress users to run multi blog. After that WordPress developers added this function to core, so now you can create multi-blog in couple of clicks. I was writing little tutorial about this, not long ago: Turn WordPress into multisite network. I guess it's good idea because you can offer members to have their own blogs on you platform, or perhaps you can run multiple blogs on same domain with different niches and yet organize everything from one administration panel, which is awesome idea and time saving. Wpmudev plugins is also nice addition to any blog, but they can be used even on single blogs and they have some good ideas and features, only thing is, it's not free Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

but ok with me...
Depending on what you want to do with such multiuser website, in some cases BuddyPress plugin could be also great idea to have and to create perfect social network website.

With WPMUDEV the options seem to be endless lol Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

If you use just their plugins you can set up so many detailed systems and make money with them if you're good at marketing and SEO Setting up your own blogging platform like Wordpress

I don't know about wpmudev.org, but I think this is great. I want to try this, but my question is how easy is it to use. I mean do I need to know about programming and coding. If yes, then I will have to just avoid this because I have no knowledge and skills on web programming. If we can create a unique blogging platform like wordpress with few plugins, than I may try. You say this is a paid system, is it one-time payment or has a monthly subscription?
