Well you should actually avoid using free blogging platforms like Blogger. I just posted a discussion about it here https://www.seocheckout.com/faq/18...ogging-Platforms

Your blog, content, images, etc. can be taken away from you for any reason that blogger wants to suspend you for. They can suspend you and remove your content because they don't like the color of your blog lol which template works well in blogger It's their platform, they'll do what the want which template works well in blogger

Go with this set up: Shared hosting plan, premium wordpress theme, your own domain.

This way you can edit anything you want and not worry about losing anything.

I don’t remember having read your post about Blogger. But I am surprised that Blogger can suspend your account and take away your contents. I don’t think it is fair because the site earns from the user and the user earns from other means like Adsense or other advertising platform. When the account is suspended the user suffers. Perhaps that is the main reason why bloggers are shifting to Wordpress.

Yes going by Razzys previous post I would seriously consider not using a free platform, it sounds like using a free blogging platform can very easily turn around and bite you in the ass.

Paying for a blog is really not that expensive when you think about it, not in the long run. It doesn't take too much to have your bog paying its own way. A domain and some hosting doesn't add up to that much, especially when you weigh up the pros and cons of having your own blog versus using a paid blogging platform.

Go with the default templates offered by Blogger. I don't suggest you install some custom ones, they're all buggy. Better stick with the original blogger offers you and you'll be fine.
You have tons of ways to customize the design as well as the functionalities. Check this out: http://bbloggertutorials.blogspot.ro/

Good luck.
