[Please help] Sitemap shows more indexed than index status in GWMT.

Hello everyone...

I've got a issue with google webmaster tools unfortunately. In the section "Index Status" it just shows 398 Total Indexed (This was since 7/10/16 it didn't update since!) And in sitemaps it shows me 2416 urls indexed. Which must I believe? I'm creating articles with around 6 users averaging 100 articles a day. Is that too much? I do SEO also (not spamming, high DA) Anyway. All our articles are atleast 400 words long and with images (100% seo friendly). Google does index my pages I think. I get a tiny bit of traffic but they seem to be from blackhat link spam bots. Which are blocked. When I check the kw's I'm usually on the second page.

Now here's an image which concerns me a lot.

[Please help] Sitemap shows more indexed than index status in GWMT.
So basically my question is this :
1. Is 100 articles a day on average too much? (Seo friendly, usually 5 images).
2. Is it normal for the index status to not go higher than it currently is? (Index status shows 398 indexed while sitemap shows over 2000)
3. Should I stop creating articles and give my website a small break? If yes howlong.

If someone can answer any of these questions, please do I'd appreciate your time very much. I'm really lost.

I currently have 2 websites ranked #1, with SEO. But I got the traffic to rank me from youtube. So this is kind of my first time to rank it purely with SEO only. If you own a website and have established an GWMT account please do make a picture of your index status. I'd like to see how it goes.

Sincerly,
Samo.

Sorry for double posting, I just wanted to mention that I found how to see howmany urls really are indexed by google you simply write site:%domainname% - And check the amount of results. Easy enough. But it stills concerns me whether it's bad for my status to be frozen like that.

Hello Samox.

I'll try answering your questions:

1. No, no it's not, Google doesn't have a limit on how much you should publish. BUT it depends on your niche, for example, if your niche posting average is something around 2.4 articles per day and you publish 100 per day, that's definitely a red flag. I mean, how can you ensure content quality if you write 100 articles every day?

2. The index in search console will usually update once in a while. Don't worry about it. Your sitemap has a lot more indexed pages because Google can see the sitemap updates. The best way to check your current index with: site:websitename command. Your Search Console index will eventually catch up and you will notice an upper trend in the graphic.

3. Again, depends on what you are writing about. If its news stuff, like a normal general newspaper website, yeah, don't worry, you are supposed to write and publish a lot of stuff. On the other hand, if you write low-quality content or spinned content and you publish a lot, it won't be a good thing on the long run. Try writing bigger posts and merging certain topics together, Google loves big content.

Let me know on future index updates and if you have more questions.
Cheers.

Hi this solved most of my questions except the 100 articles a day. I've not received any issues as of yet but I think google wouldnt mind since there are several authors. Or would they still mind? And no its not copy-pasted information. Thankyou for your answer I appreciate it (Written from my phone)
