The Great Forum Conspiracy. Is it completely safe?

Hello friends!

I am thinking about starting a new forum as a traffic source for my website. This forum will not be attached to my existing website but will be an exclusive entity. I will post a banner on it which will display on all the pages of the forum linking to my money website.

Will Google recognize this as a paid link? I am very skeptical about everything since a Romanian guy screwed 2 of my websites.

Cliffs

- A new forum on a new domain

- Will display a banner on each page linking to my money website

- Aim is to get more traffic

- Is it a safe practice?

Thanks!

Doing this is actually a great way to promote your own products. I've actually done this with plenty of my own websites. I'll set up free services for people in my niche, and for each free service I'll have it on it's own domain and IP. Since it's a free service, just like a forum, people flocked to it and used it daily. I just so happened to have my banners on the free service websites which help with my off page optimization as well as bring in direct sales The Great Forum Conspiracy. Is it completely safe?

To this day I still get loads of traffic from these free services and I haven't done any SEO on those websites in maybe 10 months lol The Great Forum Conspiracy. Is it completely safe?

Like Mike said, don't put them all on the same server because they will get linked together and you could get knocked for that. Try your hardest to keep your forum and other websites separate so you get the benefit of the banner in two ways. Since you only have the one website and forum, you can easily put them on separate hosting companies and everything will be set up independently. You won't have to worry about getting put on the same servers since you'll be going through two different companies The Great Forum Conspiracy. Is it completely safe?

Another trick you can do, if you want, is to build the traffic on your forum for 3+ months and then slap a banner on there. This way you'll get people to be more willing to sign up since your ads aren't plastered on there. I haven't done much split testing on this with forums because that's not my niche, but it did work for my 1-3 page free service websites pretty well The Great Forum Conspiracy. Is it completely safe? With a forum I think people might be use to banner ads on there from the start, so you could probably put a banner on there before you have traffic and still get the same percentage of conversions compared to if you put it on there in 3 months.

Oh what in interesting thread. I was thinking of creating a forum for mental health, specifically for addiction. I have an addiction blog and I thought adding a forum where people can get help, support, advice and information from other addicts would be amazing.

I just haven't got the time to get around to that yet and I had no idea how I would get started. I had a forum on one of my websites before and it was really taking up so much effort that I let it go. I wonder how to get a forum really pumping?

Hi eljefeseo thanks for showing your concern. I never hear there have any issue of losing part. I should agree with you this is one of the great tricky to convert traffic from forum to your money website. You are not only one person doing this. I saw several times many website owner getting traffic such way. And this is your smart thinking for making a forum for kind of involvedness by participators. So, you can use banner linking on money site without hesitation. And it is 100% safe from all Google updates. Rather it will looking more natural traffic flow to your money site.

From what I know about Google Adsense, the only violation is when you yourself is creating the traffic and that can only be detected by the IP address that you are using. And with the forum that you are planning, I think it is a good idea as long as the IP cannot be found out to be the same as your money-making website. More likely the forum members that will click on your website have their own IP address so there’s no worry.
