    Li-Fi VS Wi-Fi wireless signal 100X faster

    After reading this great post Aquila Project, Facebook Made It! by ProCoder it just remind me of another revolutionary technology which is not in wide use, but i bet it will overtake current use of Wi-Fi devices very soon. Li-Fi is actually 100 times faster then best Wi-Fi at the moment and it spreading internet access signal by light. Sounds like very awesome future technology and i really wish to have it in my home as soon as possible, not just because of speed of data transferred but because of other better performances as well. In this couple videos you can see more about it:





    Sure, there is more videos available on YouTube. But what is your thoughts about LI-FI??

    I have very fast internet at the moment. So fast my network hardware can't take it at full speed. So even if Li-Fi takes off, keep in mind you need to have the computers to run with such speeds.
    Both HDDs and SSDs are also fairly limited when it comes to writing speed. Maybe it will be ok for servers and things like that. But for the average user, with a normal PC, you won't take full advantage of that speed.

    Oh my this sounds incredible, I am just wondering how long it will take for this technology to hit South Africa or maybe it is here already and I just didn't know about it. The internet speed and connections here are just plain shoddy. I bet if any of you had to come and work at my house you would throw your laptop out the window in frustration!

    I am interested in acquiring anything that can make my connection faster. I recently had to ask my service provider to give me a 4 meg line instead of a 2 meg line because it was so slow I could barely work Li-Fi VS Wi-Fi wireless signal 100X faster

    I don't know how you do it working with 4 meg. I would quit in utter frustration! Could this be an opportunity? I would like to suggest for you to explore if the telecom infrastructure exists for you to start your own ISP that serves a major city. If it does, and you can use the existing telecom wires, fiber lines you could start a small business that would have no shortage of customers.

    LOL and 4 meg for us is like an "awesome connection". It is all about perspective isn't it?

    I'm not sure I want to get involved with the company that has the existing telecom wires. Telkom has a monopoly here and they are an awful company with terrible service. I have enough problems just dealing with them for my own internet purposes, imagine having a company where you have to deal with them every day? I would rather chew on my wrists.

    I completely understand your position! It would be hard to get a foothold with the monopolies that most telecoms' have. Usually telecom is Government controlled by many aspects. Anyway, it was just a nice thought. Hey I have another thought! You should run for President of South Africa so you can institute better internet for the people! Here is your platform pitch to run against President Jacob Zuma!

    Oh my gosh I would hate to be President, this country is in such shambles and so corrupt. It is such a shame. It seems like yes all the monopolies are controlled by our government, there is so much BS going on.

    The first honest person to take over (we can only hope it will happen soon) will have his or her job cut out for them. The problem is that the corruption is just so rife and all over that I wouldn't know where to start weeding them out!

    Hi anwebservices thanks for sharing your nice post. I always very curious to know for any new technology. And you really convey information for a next generation technology like Li-Fi. Opss it will be really awesome if as your said like 100 times faster than traditional Wi-Fi. I have to say traditional Wi-Fi because, I use 2 Wi-Fi router but working as like tortoise sometimes and each day hanging or slowing my internet connection. I am really eager to get new technology if preserve place instead of Wi-Fi like Li-Fi. Everything going on super fast, so why not source of information technology, which mean resource of exploring?

    My internet service provider tries to sell the internet package as the fastest internet available. However, I can say that my ISP is probably the slowest internet available. We are suppose to have 75 mbps/sec download speeds, a lower tier of the package plans, however our actual download speed is 5 mbps/sec.

    I contacted the support in the past to fix our download speed issue, but it keeps going back to 5mbps/sec. I think they will give you that speed for a limited time and then take it away, or cap the speed. It's really annoying, and I think it's a bad business practice to do such a thing.

    I like the concept of li-fi but as far as it replacing wifi I don't really think it will happen well at least not any time soo to be honest it's just that the speeds at which li-fi is sending data might be a little to fast for our technology at the moment it would take our devices some time to catch up to what they go going on don't get me wrong though I don't count it out as some thing for the future but I don't think it will take part in the near future that's all I'm saying

    I don’t have the habit of watching videos so I do not know exactly how LI-FI works. But based on the post and comments above it looks like a promising way of wireless access that I hope is true to its promise. Although wi-fi is considered a good facility in terms of internet access, a much better facility is always welcome especially when we are talking of speed of internet access.
