What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

What are your goals, dreams, aspirations or targets you want to meet and achieve as a freelancer?

We all need goals and targets, just like we all need dreams and aspirations. Having a goal or a target in life keeps you motivated and inspired to get out of bed in the morning!

The same can be said for your dreams and aspirations as well. They are what keep us going, pushing forward to make those dreams become a living reality.

And they could be for anything! Maybe you dream of owning your own hotel or restaurant. Or perhaps you want to open some other business like an Internet cafe or beach side bar or something.

Maybe you just want to save up enough money to go on a nice holiday with your partner or friends or save up enough money for that new car or gadget you want.

One thing I like to do is cut out pictures or print them off from the Internet and stick them to my wall next to my PC. So if I want a car, I'll put a picture of that car up. If I want to go to a certain place, I'll find a picture of it and put it next to my PC on the wall. If I want the Xbox One Slim, I'll stick that up too. Basically, I'll put pictures of the things that I want around me so that I am always seeing them and then I am reminded about what I'm doing all my work for and it drives me to crack on and get that thing. Then when I've got it, I can remove the picture and replace it with something else.

What about you?

How do you motivate yourself to meet your goals and targets?

What inspires you to push on and make your dreams a reality?

Do you just mentally image what you want or do you do something else?

What is your ultimate goal as a freelancer?

When I was growing up my family didn't have much money. I remember getting a hand me down bike, roller blades, etc. I didn't get hand me down clothes because I had 3 older sisters haha What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

My motivation is to push myself so I don't have to raise my kid in the same conditions. I want to give her the world and if I'm not busting my ass trying to do so, it will never happen. I'm on the right path, just not there yet. Now I'm not poor, I'm just not wealthy and I want to be. I want to own a huge house with a ferrari in the driveway and I won't stop until I have that. I mean I'll settle for a nice chevy silverado, but I'm a truck guy lol What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

I've been in situations where I didn't know if I should pay my rent or put food on the table. Luckily I have a great landlord and he understands that people have hard times. Right now everything is fine, I'm making plenty of money and can pay for whatever we need. But with online marketing and sales, you never know if the rug is going to be pulled out from under you What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer? I was making money hand over fist by advertising through adwords and getting a 2,000% return at one point. And I wish I would have saved up all my money and not pushed most of it into new ventures because when I got to a point where I wanted to increase my daily spend to $150 a day, I was banned. I guess I went into a manual review and they didn't like my services, so I was banned.

I now have an adwords account again and I won't be making the same mistakes I did in the past. Slowly but surely I'm getting back to my former glory. And my little girl helps me every day What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

I wish you the best of luck Razzy. Like you, my main motivation are my kids. I believe when you become a parent you naturally take on a whole new vision to your endeavors, and you work harder but at the same time you feel happy that you are doing so because you want to give your kids the best of the best. My family was also a low income family so when I was a kid they could not afford to dine out, or pay for the music lessons I so wished to attend. It hurt, but it made me more determined to give those 'treats' or opportunities to my kids by working for it.

Having a goal is the best way to keep being motivated at what you do. Personally I focus on the earnings, so as to make sure that the family has a suitable income, and since I am very passionate about home decor I tend to come up with a project or something I would like to buy when I have enough savings. I would also love to go for a vacation as it has been a long while since we went for a trip abroad. I truly love your idea of putting up pictures of things you want to buy What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

Thank you jkeyz. Yes to me family comes first. When I manage to earn something extra I like to use it to give them a treat, so as to make them happy. Sometimes times are tough, but as long as you keep working hard there are always going to be better times that will make you stronger. That was how my freelancing career advanced over the years, and now I feel that I made a great decision to keep working hard and never gave up, even though there were times were I felt discouraged. But my family's needs always motivated me to keep going strong.

My main motivation is my family, my children. The shift of my focus when I had kids was absolutely mind blowing. My interests have competely changed and I have tunnel vision, my sight is on my kids only.

My goals are firstly to buy a plot of land. I know which one I want and I have spoken to the owner of it. I hope to purchase it in a few months. It is just 3 plots away from where I live right now!

I then want to build a house on it, I know who I want to build it. It is the owner of the plot. I have seen the houses he builds and that is MY home.

I want to then buy a nice big jungle gym and swings with a slide.

Then I want to buy all the great quality furniture and things I need to make my home comfortable for us as a family.

To sum it up, I am a woman and I want to "nest". LOL

After that I want to slow down with my work and work less. I want to have enough money to pay the bills, travel a bit and take my kids on nice holidays and I want to put all the extra money away so when I die my kids have something.

That sounds pretty awesome to me What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

I want to get a plot of land and build my own house as well. The only problem is that my little girl loves her school and there are no plots around us. Well, there is one plot, but it's pretty far from the school and the guy wants double what it's worth What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer? Soooo I'll probably buy a house and once she's out of high school we can move somewhere more ideal. And by "Ideal" I mean into the woods where no one is around and I can walk around naked if I want What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

I've been looking at those bladder houses and each time I look at them I get more interested What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer? If you've never seen them, you're probably thinking of a house shaped as a bladder lol.

Here's what they look like...

This is obviously a much more advanced one than normal, but you get the idea What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

You would inflate a bladder/balloon to the shape of how you want your house.
Construct a rebar system over it to the shape of the bladder.
Pour the concrete and wait for it to set.
BOOM! HOUSE!!!

Supposedly it's about 1/2 the price of a house in a similar size and half the price to heat and cool, so that's pretty awesome What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

I think I would use something like this in the woods or if I were to get a lake house. Putting one of these bad boys right no the water would be pretty awesome What Motivates you to meet your Goals, Targets, Dreams and Aspirations as a Freelancer?

Hi idealmike thanks for your nice question. I believe nothing set a plan goal never like try. And if you cannot achieved the goal, never feel like that I am so happy now. Goal may for short term and long term. Okay what things motivate to me for achieving goal? Is it? I am growing in village and my most of the relatives very wealth and they had many proprity, car etc and they live in capital city. I felt if I be a such a rich guy, my mom said you need to study properly, than you can come this position. And from that time I dream to be a rich guy. But, I never know how it will possible. By the way I got some opportunity to make true my dream. I know this is not easy. But, I believe I am on the way.
My wife and my son motivate me to achieving dream. Overall my family responsibility motivate me always.

The future is my source of motivation. One thing I vowed is that I will have the best of life and to have the best of life, there is need to make lots of money and that's the reason I joined freelancing. I would have been writing offline just for passion, but becoming a freelancer is making both dreams come true.

At present, I consider my freelancing as a training for my long term plan of going full time freelancing when I retire from my office job. That thought is enough to inspire me to go on despite the hardships and the heartaches in freelancing. Another motivating factor is in meeting new friends which strengthens my network.

I always pep up myself, I tell myself no food for a lazy one and of course, no gain from being lazy or fooling around. I learned so much from my mum, she always encourages us not to begged or borrow from anyone that is a bad way of living and I have adopted that spirit, if we don't work we die with our goal, dreams, and aspiration.Nobody owes us anything. So to achieve anything, we must work for it.
