Why is my site stuck in search?

I am also doing seo for one website and I tried for 3 months. My keywords are stuck at 2nd page only. And, no matter what I do, it won't rank higher. And, I want to get someone's help to make my pages rank better based on my chosen keywords

Hi venky3536 thanks for your question. I do not know what type of SEO you did? And I do not know how to you become in second page on Google? And did you do all SEO work by yourself? If so what method did you used? If I could get all answer from you. I could answer you more clearly. If you do right SEO by both on-page and off-page optimization and if you use white hat method, I am sure your targeted keyword will become more and more better position. But, need to understand depth of SEO. Ordinary backlink never impact positively on your website

Hey Venky,

Have you dona any on page optimization for your website? If you haven't done much, or any, then you'll need to get on that as soon as possible. Having no on page optimization and all off page optimization won't do anything for your rankings. Well, you could get a slight boost, but not as much as if you had proper on page optimization.

On Page Optimization
  • Title Tag: You need to make sure your titles are optimized for the keywords you're trying to target. I usually use each page for a specific keyword so that I don't have to jam 10 keywords into my titles. Get your keyword into each title one time. Don't add your keyword to the title multiple times because it will just look bad.
  • Description Tag: Your description tag should have the same keyword as the title tag, but add it 2 times. This will now show your keyword 3 times in total if you count the one in your title tag. Adding keywords in your description helps increase the chances of ranking higher in the search engines for that specific keyword. If you add 5 to 10 different keywords in your description it will look bad.
  • Header Tags: Your header <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> and <h6> header tags are only to be used for important things on your page. Getting your keyword into the header tags will help increase your rankings. You won't always need to go up to <h6> because you may not have that much content on you page. I usually go up to <h4> and stop there.
  • Alt Tags: Be sure to add alt tags to your images. You know when you go to a website and see an image not loading but there is some text there telling you what the image is about? That's an alt tag doing its job Why is my site stuck in search? Adding these to your images helps Google, Yahoo! and Bing identify what the image is about. Use a keyword as your alt tag and vary up the keyword with each image on the page.
  • Responsive (mobile friendly) Design: Make sure you design is responsive (mobile friendly). A responsive design is giving priority in the search results over non responsive designs. Google did this update recently to their search algorithm since the majority of it's searches are now from mobile phones. Not having a responsive design will hurt your rankings.

Off Page Optimization:
  • Time: All your efforts won't yield the best results until your website is at least 6 months old. I understand you want to make money right away, but Google, Yahoo! and Bing won't just shove a brand new website to the top of the rankings because you want it to. You'll need a good domain age, at least 6 months, to see a positive jump in the rankings for difficult keywords.
  • Backlinks: You'll need to build high quality backlinks towards your homepage and subpages. Never forget about your subpages Why is my site stuck in search? Tier your links so that the "link juice" flows down to your pages.
  • Branding: Start branding your website as soon as you can. When someone wants to find the best website in your niche, they should just type your domain name into the address bar Why is my site stuck in search? Branding isn't the easiest thing to do because it takes time. That's why I say to start it as soon as possible. Do optimization for your domain and business name so that you're guaranteed to show up on top of the search results for them.

As my friends said it takes more detailed information to be able to give you more precise answers, however even then SEO is a broad field, and what works well for one will not work that well for another. The key is to give it time and considering you managed to get to page 2 it is not that bad either. So I suggest you keep doing what you did, and maybe work more on the content and on the backlinks. Other than that, and being consistent, you also need to be patient I guess.

Yes I agree with Mike. Without a decent amount of information about the website and what you are doing it is not going to be easy to help you out.

Ranking does take time, and yes I also found with all my websites that for a while everything seemed stuck around page 2, 3 and 4. Then suddenly everything started ranking better. So whatever you are doing keep working at it.

It looks like you are focusing on your keywords because you haven’t mention the other SEO methods like spreading your backlinks and the contents. For me, the most important element of a website for search engine purposes is the content. High quality contents is moderate in length, well-written with no grammar error and spelling mistake, unique which means it is not copied from another website whether in part or in full. That will surely increase the ranking of your website in the search list.
