Why does my site redirect to default.html?

My new site redirects to a default html page, such as mydomain.com/default.html. I'm using Linux hosting currently for the new site. How can I change this?

When someone types your domain name in to their browser they are automatically directed to your website’s default file. If you are using Linux hosting accounts, default.html takes priority over home.html. Just rename the file that you want to be the home page to default.html and either remove or rename the original default.html file.

u may need to contact your host company

Why would he have to change the host? It's just a default file which is put there upon creating your server space. You can rename your home page file to index.html and default.html won't be a primary page anymore. Note that you could also use .htaccess file to manage re-directions Why does my site redirect to default.html?

Let me know if you need further assistance with this.
