Choosing a good web hosting company is mandatory, here are some of the traits I look for in a web host:

- The web host must have proven track record. I do not go for new web hosts.
- The web host must have excellent customer support. The web host must have live support and email support.
- The web host must charge reasonable price.
- The web host must have money back guarantee.

Here are some things you may want to look for in a hosting company :
Money Back Guarantee - I put this first, because if you are unhappy with your hosting site, you'll want assurances that you'll get your money back.
24/7 Customer Technical Support – This is critical.
Control Panel
CGI - CGI "Common Gateway Interface"
Mailing List Software

Hope it can help others too!
