Do you perform keyword research before purchasing a domain name?

When I was buying my domain name for my forum, I did extensive keyword research on possible keywords to include in the domain name. And, I do the same thing, even when choosing a blogger.com subdomain as the keywords included often help me get ranked higher on Google. This is different than keyword stuffing as the content of the site always relates to the keywords chosen for the domain/subdomain.

Google keyword tool finder is my primary tool for performing research when buying a domain name. This tool lets me identify words that are being searched. Another source of inspiration is trending topics as that can help locate a hot trend to capitalize on.

Yes, this is really important. Some people will tell you that Google doesn't care about the domain name and the keywords in it, but they do. It is obviously a huge indicator of what the website is about. I've found sites I have made where I had a perfect match domain for the targeted keyword, I was able to get to the first page much faster than otherwise.

I do perform keyword research when I purchase or register a domain. I use keywords that is on high demand. A year ago, I was thinking about a domain for my ecommerce site. I looked for the niche and found that lingerie was a profitable niche. I performed keywords and found that the keyword "sexy bra" was in high demand. Therefore, I registered a website with the name "sexybra.online"
