    What if the previous domain name owner was a spammer?

    What should you do if you purchase an aged domain name and find out the previous owner was a spammer and now the domain ranks low in search engines because of it?

    Is there a way to have this reversed?

    If you have purchased a domain name and find that it's not performing well in search engines, then it could be due to some activity by the previous owner.

    You can always file a reconsideration request with Google here, explaining why you feel your site should be reconsidered for inclusion into search engines. You may need to wait several weeks for the review, so please be patient.
