    Should you use a foreign word or name in your domain name?

    Is it possible to use a foreign (non-English) word or name for your domain name? For instance, let's say you wanted to incorporate the French word 'fleur', meaning flower, into your domain name. Would this be advisable?

    The advantage of choosing a foreign word for a domain name is that it allows you to have access to words not otherwise available in the English language. For instance, as you mentioned, the word 'flower' might not be available for your domain name. But a foreign derivation could be. Or, mix and match words in various languages for a more exotic flair to your domain name.

    If you are setting a personal website or blog, having your name as your domain name is very recommended. For instance, I have a personal blog called vinayaspeaks.xyz and a personal website called vinayaghimire.com (the domain has my full name).
    If you are targeting local customers it is better to use the local word (non English word). For example, there is a very popular website in my home country it is called esewa, where e refers to internet and sewa refers to service). The website targets to the local people thus the domain is very popular.
