Taking advantage of Google+ for SEO..!!!

While there are hundreds of ways to optimize your Google+ experience, the most important activities can be summed up by these nine points:

1. Start building relationships now on Google+

It's never too late to start. Google+ is a social network. Following great people, commenting on posts, and sharing great content not only helps to increase your own influence, but it can be extremely educational as well.

2. Post share-worthy content on Google+ to attract natural links

When you share content, don't just post a link and walk away. Add additional value with commentary and relevant information.

Consider these examples of long Google+ posts. Each acts like a mini blog post and adds highly shareable, linkable context. I don't recommend replacing your personal blog with Google+ entirely, but sometimes a few lines of context makes all the difference.

In the social media universe, Google+ has a unique marketing advantage: a direct impact on SEO rankings.
Google+ is central to effective social media marketing. Not only does it provide engagement with diverse populations, but it directly affects measurable outcomes beyond engagement, including higher search results ranking.

Good poin of view, but the biggest problem is related to the number of followers of the G+ pages where you're sharing your posts...

Google + is a social media site, with focus on personal and professional networking on one platform. Since Google + is a social networking site, links shared on Google + are not considered backlinks. However, G+ can generate social signals ( +1, reshare). Social signals are one of the important aspects of off page SEO. Social signals help a website to get higher in the page ranks.

Let me join this discussion to show my ignorance of Google+. I have to admit that I don’t have a Google+ account although I have checked on the website many times. I just don’t want to create an account when I think I wouldn’t use it often. That’s what happened to my Twitter account, I created but I am not using. I don’t like that idea just because creating an account is free so we just create. Anyway, I guess Google+ has an advantage over Facebook. I am comparing them because they are in the same genre of social media network. However, Google+ is wanting in users that’s why I think Facebook still has the bigger advantage in terms of search engines.
