Is it more socially acceptable for women to use Facebook?

Do you think it's more socially acceptable for a woman to be social on Facebook (by adding friends, talking, socializing) than even for men? And, do you see very many men who are more than just members, such as people who have very active Facebook lives?

I wonder why you are asking this question. According to surveys women do spend more time on social media. adding, talking, and socializing is part of social media, well that's how it works don't you think?

I agree with this assertions, women are more on social media than men. From my observation men are more business-minded,it mostly about creating awareness for their businesses but women are mostly to chat and socialize. But truthfully I see nothing wrong with that if anyone decides to socialize on social media be it male or female.

The most active users on facebook are the people between the age of 45 and 55 years. However, I don't know wnat percentage of men and women juse facebook. According to a latest analysis on social media, Pinterest has the largest of number of women users than on any social media platforms. Pinterest does not offer facebook like social networking features. It is more like content curation platform. Why more women prefer to join pinterest instead of facebook? That's because women are interested on useful contents rather than personal networking.

The term social media is clear on its meaning that Facebook is a society in the so called cyber space or digital world. It consists or real people. And being universal, anyone is welcome to join Facebook except those below the age requirement. And having an account in Facebook does not mean you will flirt or do something related. I know that many are doing that but it is not the standard. I don’t see anything wrong for women to have a Facebook account and actually use it for their own purposes.

I have more women friends on facebook than men. The female friends are more active on facebook then male friends. Most of the male friends. Therefore, I believe is it socially acceptable for women to remain active on facebook. I don't see any wrongs. Women join facebook for personal as well as professional connections.
