Just stay off Facebook. Or, use an extension on your browser that prevents you from loading that site. That will help you detox from the site. If you have a page to manage, you might assign an admin for the page that can be trusted to post updates. You can even write the updates, but just email them to your admin for posting.

My brother was addicted to it. So, I blocked it using my anti-virus. After doing that, whenever somebody tries to open fb, it says some virus alert and doesn't load fb page !! It helped him to be away from facebook for some time, and now he visits fb once a day. You can try this trick as well What if Facebook became an obsession?

Can you please explain to me how you would block Facebook using an anti virus software? I'd like to use that idea as my kids love to visit Facebook and so far I haven't found a way to block it.

No I am not that obsessed. I do stay on it for a while when I am on the computer but not for hours on end that I am so addicted to it.

It helps to keep Facebook in perspective, especially when using it for social reasons. I like Facebook but I don't feel addicted to it. Though the games are so much fun.

Never been too obsessed with it. I use it daily but do not have to be on. I can miss a few days and not let it worry me.

I have never been that obsessed with it. I will be on my page for maybe an hour tops a day just to check what others have posted. But I do not have to check it on my phone like some do and make comments and like everything. That is just crazy.

I just do not see how someone can become obsessed with something like fb. I know that it can be quite interesting but it is not something that I want to be on forever.

I have several female friends who are abroad for a work assignment. They are mostly domestic helpers who handle the work of a housekeeper. That malady that afflicts all of them is their addiction to Facebook. They couldn’t survive a day without checking their Facebook account. One was already suspended and penalized by her employer because she was on Facebook while cooking. What most of them do is to be on Facebook only during their break time hours. You can imagine that they lose sleep at night because of Facebook. And what to do? To be honest, I really don’t know how to wean them away from the addiction.

If it becomes my obsession then I probably need some help from friends and family, an intervention of sorts. Because obsessions are like addictions, it's very hard to curb without the help and support of others.
