    How do I get rid of my Facebook chat box?

    I'm tired of seeing that annoying chat box on lower right hand corner of Facebook every time I go there. For one thing, i don't always want to know who is on Facebook on my friends list. And, second even if lots of friends are on, I don't want them to message me constantly if I'm just checking on my Facebook fan page. Any suggestions on dealing with annoying chat box or chat interruptions?

    Isn't there a way to minimize the chat box on Facebook? Also, I believe there is an extension that lets you move the location of the Facebook chat box. I'll try to look it up and get a link.

    Easiest way is to make your status offline/invisible. Once you do that, you will see nobody or very less people will ping you. Also, you can always minimize that chat box How do I get rid of my Facebook chat box?

    You can also disable chat for specific friends, rather than your entire friends list. That will help you avoid dealing with some friends you would rather not talk to right now.

    Click on the X box in the right hand corner and this will get rid of it.
