    Please focus on high TF and high CF backlinks, also make sure those sites have high DA.

    With 4-5 good backlinks, you can easily rank on first page.

    You talked about low competition keyword.
    Trust flow (TF) , Citation flow (CF) and DA are most important secondary metrics than Google Page Rank.
    So focus on high valued website to link your site and there is no definite number backlinks to get on number 1 position.

    if you get back links from a good and quantitative website then after a short interval of time you can easily get high ranked on google but it is so hard to tell a confirm number of back links that will give you high rank.

    If you are talking about "good quality backlinks", then my answer is 25-30. You don't need too many backlinks for your website to hit the top of SERP. However, if the keyword is competitive, then you may have to work a little harder and get 50-100 backlinks for your website.

    I got confused with the question on this discussion with the term “backlinks for low competition keyword.” What I understand with backlinks is the link of the site that you had posted on another site. When you post a comment on a blog then your signature with the link of your site is considered a backlink. When you post a promotional link of your site in social media, then that is a social signal that is considered backlink. Where is the keyword in that process?
