Straight from my head:

1. Secret few days backlinking campaign that will launch you to the top of the Google and leave you there on long term - No method that is made in few days will keep you on the top for long. Consistency is the key for everything.

2. Meta keywords are very important for SEO and SERP. - Maybe for Antarctica's search engine, not for any major one.

3. You must submit your site to Google for spiders to crawl it - No you don't.

4. "I am a SEO exprert" - No you probably are not. Especially if Scrapebox is your only software and you don't know what addons are.

5. Panda hit my website for spammy link building - No, it's Penguin's job for hit sites with crappy backlinks.

6. Youtube views improve your rankings in Youtube. - No, you probably use bots for YT views, YT gives rankings to videos on how much time people watch them. Bots don't even load more than a second of video.

7. H tags are very important - Not so much

8. SEO is a short term process - Wrong.

9. Content is the only king. - No. You can discover a cure for HIV or something and write it on your blog. If you won't market your site, nobody will read it.

^Very well said. Those are some obvious myths.
I laugh on the 4th one. I have seen many people who claim they are "experts" selling these "seo software" online and saying in his landing page that you can thousands of dollars when using his software.

Another myth is that you need links to rank...
I ranked a site at position 14 for a 6600 monthly search keyword and all I did was some on-page... I actually duplicated the on-page of the top ranking site.
Obviously it is not sensible to just sit there and wait, but it was interesting experiment anyhow!

For how long? Every site has some auto generated links to it...

How long does it take you to reach that rank? Didn't you link it to any other site even once?

Not really a short process at all. But as you see, I'm asking the guy how long does it take for him to rank that high. And I do know its not that easy.

It really wasn't up for very long...maybe a couple of weeks. Although links will appear from elsewhere, it was quite interesting to see that I didn't have to actually build links myself.

I think that to rank high it would be different for everyone, right? Depends on what you all do for SEO, correct?

And, you didn't do any manual backlinking? That's really cool as most people say that's mandatory.

Do you know if anyone else linked to the pages of your site voluntarily or did the site literally have zero backlinks?

Now websites are being ranked based on the content so you should think of this first.. links also work but they don't work like it was working before, now you have to build more natural links for better result.

It's kinda weird for a site to rank without zero backlinks. Content and backlinks do work hand-in-hand.
It's possible that there's a site that linked to his site that helped him rank.

@BarryinSiam
Do you get refferal traffic from other websites?

Another common myth is how you need to pay to learn SEO. You can easily learn good SEO techniques from an SEO forum or even Google's own webmaster blog where they share proper SEO techniques.

There are some decent SEO ebooks available online for sale. But just as many for free, too. Just read SEO blogs first and you'll learn almost everything you need to know about SEO without paying.

SEO is very competitive if you want to do SEO then you should give time in researching low competitive keywords first.

That's where you start, with low competition keywords and over time (with lots of work), it's possible to dominate even the more popular, intensely competitive keywords

The only myth that is on the tip of my tongue right now is one that I had read in a discussion that the SEO work you do today will take effect within 24 hours. I don’t know how that will happen when all I have been reading is that SEO is not an exact science since the algorithm of search engines are changing all the time which means the effect cannot be expected on a particular time which means it can be tomorrow or next week or even next month.
