Giving backlinks to get backlinks

Another twist on reciprocal linking is where you link to a useful article on another blog. The blogger will find your backlink and visit your blog to see what you've said about them. If your niche is similar or you provide useful resources, that blogger is likely to link back to one of your posts.

The difference between doing this and getting a reciprocal backlink is the backlink you get will be to a specific post, rather than to your blog home page.

Google loves these kind of freely given, editorial links from blogs.

Do you link to other blogs? And, does it help you get backlinks? Please talk about it.

Most bloggers are curious as to who is linking to them. I'm always clicking through when I see a backlink from another site.

In some ways, I think it's flattering when someone links to my content. I want to see who has linked to it and if they have a good site, I'm likely to link back to one of their pages or at least their Facebook page.

It's always a good feeling if other bloggers link back to one of your articles and have it posted over on theirs. Especially if that site is big or popular on the said niche.

What will happen if the article posted on your site is not related to your topic?

Hopefully, the person would stay on topic with the subject matter of your blog. However, if their article is too different, you could place it in a catch all 'general' or 'other' category. Or, maybe put it under the news heading.

At least, it's new content and that's always a good thing. I'm sure there's a way to make that work to your advantage.

If the other blogger likes your content, they will want to share or link to it on their own.

Not always been interested when someone links to my blogs for the simple reason that it's not worth the time to checking every single link one by one. I used to do this but then i realised that most of the times the content is unrelated. I assume that as much as popular a page is, this blogger's attitude becomes more usual.
