    Are no follow backlinks still worth getting?

    Do you still try to get a link even if it's no follow, even if it won't help your page rank? Does it help your position in the search engines for SEO purposes?

    It doesn't hurt to get a mix of do follow and no follow links as Google can so obviously see these backlinks, whether or not they are following them to the site being linked to.

    Well Beverly is right, but there can a scenario of making links in a ratio of 3:2. This means 3 links from dofollow and 2 links of no follow. This could be the better for your website ranking.

    Would Google recognize a consistent pattern like that?

    Also, just thinking it's a good idea to get links from all over, assuming they are from related sites as many times you will get a click through from real visitors.

    I never really care if a link is dofollow or not. A backlink is still a backlink. You know you can still get traffic from nofollow links.

    As you say, you can still get traffic with a backlink. Ultimately, it's more important to have real visitors to your site who will read your blog posts and click on ads. That's what people really want when they talk about getting higher placement in search engines. Higher placement doesn't guarantee click throughs.
