Adwords vs SEO for traffic

Some people prefer search engine traffic and rely upon it, while others insist that paid advertising is best.

You can buy advertising from Google called Adwords and this would be 'marketing'. Search engine optimization is not marketing as it relies on many factors that are often outside of your own control. With paid advertising you control whether or not your ideal customer sees your advertising (by bidding up on competitive keywords), but with search engine optimization, you try to figure out what it will take to get Google's attention (using either white hat/safe or blackhat techniques).

Please compare paid advertising methods such as Adwords, Facebook ads, etc to search engine optimization for traffic generation purposes. Which one works best for you?

Adwords and other paid ads offer fast results (traffic, sales, etc), but these require a lot of money plus many skills for tarketing your niche market. SEO offers very, very, ... very slow results, requires a lot of skills and... it's very cheap compared with paid ads.

I was reading on a competing forum how at least one marketer doesn't rely on SEO anymore but instead builds email lists and uses those for marketing. So, there is a third option to market via email rather than relying on either SEO or Adwords/paid advertising for traffic and sales.

Adwords ads are very costly but it provides instant result and SEO is free of cost but very slow process. But i think SEO is better than Adword because SEO gives long-term result as compare to Adwords ads.

If you have a decent amount of money yo invest, and want the earnings fast, then adwords wins. But if you want more autopilot and steady income, then SEO comes in play. Sure It takes more time, but the end results are much more worth it.

Adwords works best and yes it's costly but the results are fast. Unlike SEO where you have to give more effort on that. If you want to get fast result then you go with paid advertising and SEO. They are all effective if done right and hit your target audience.

Google is very fickle and the days of depending on Google for traffic is likely over as they keep updating and tweaking their rules. More than anything, I would not rely on Google for traffic solely as the traffic that it produces does not convert well for some niches. This will vary based on your own niche though, so you should constantly test.

Both Adwards and SEO are great ways to drive traffic. which to use?? it is depend on you.

  • If you have money to invest, therefore Adwards will be the right choice, as it will save your time and get FAST and MORE TARGETED results.


  • If you have time, therefore you can use SEO.

SEO need more effort and a lot of skills to apply and it also provide a very slow results that may be lost once Google update its algorithms. However it's very cheap compared with Adwards.

In my opinion SEO is much better...but you can combine adwords with SEO also with Facebook ads....for more impact ;)

Adowrds traffic is best in terms of conversion. But I'd say go for SEO traffic. Its kind of one time investment but you can reap its benefits for lifetime! (Of course, you need to play fair, else face wrath of big G)

Adwords can provide instant results while SEO takes a long time to start working. If you need traffic now, as in within a few minutes, you should go with Adwords and PPC campaigns.

Your website will appear alongside search results based on the keywords used by the searcher. If the searcher finds your website interesting (based on the spinnets that appears with your link), he might visit and you will gain traffic. You are pulling paid traffic to the website. SEO is a free way to pull traffic. You may have to pay an SEO expert, however, you are not directly paying money to visit your website.
