Everyone is so focused on the big list as if that will earn more money. But what good is a big list of nonresponsive subscribers? A small list of subscribers who like, share, buy and talk back to you will earn you far more money.

A small list of 100 subscribers that actively participate and interact with your website will be so much better than 1000 subscribers who have nothing to do with you. And, I know that might seem like common sense, but you would be surprised how many site owners think a big list is more profitable.

You need to pare down your list to only responsive email subscribers who have taken time to interact with you in some way in recent history.

This will save money on your email cost, as some email software charges per subscriber.

Size of the list does not matter. Conversion is what that matters. let me illustrate this. You have a list of 1000 subscribers. You send emails to 1000 people. What if 500 people delete your email without opening? Of 500 who opened the email, only 250 clicked the link. Of 250 people if only 125 people clicked the ads or bought products, your conversion rate is just 12.5. Contrarily, if you have a list of 100 subscribers and 20 people clicked links or bought products, your conversion rate is 20 percent.

Small or the big does not matter. It is the people who are clicking on the links that matters. So you have to find out what small and big subscribers are helping your list. You can see that list is what takes years to form. And you have to build it the right way. You can't really fix it and it needs a massive work to promote there. And for such changes to be proper understanding there has to be understanding how the subscribers think as well.

There are some cases where the small set of subscribers alone can make some good money. But you have to promote the things at the right time and efforts. That's the thing we have to understand for list to help us.
