What's the difference between an ezine and newsletter?

Some people publish what they call an ezine, others publish a site newsletter. Are there any real technical differences between the two? Or, do these serve the same purpose?

Both ezine and site newsletter are the same and usually contain similar information. However, some people call them by different names.

Some years back, they had ezine directory sites where you could list your site ezine or newsletter. I haven't seen any recently.

An ezine will look more like an actual magazine (delivered by email) with full color graphics and sophisticated layout options. While an email newsletter will just be plain text.

To me they are pretty much the same thing. I can not really tell a difference.

I'm sure these two are just the same, with no differences.

Though maybe the ezine has a fancier name than merely a newsletter.

Ezine is a magazine that is published only online. Online magazines are called ezine. Newsletters are a printed report containing news that is sent by mail. Online newsletters are sent electronically.

Ezine is in a magazine form with all glossary images and text telling subscribers about a site while newsletter though also talking about a site to a subscriber but this comes in a more textual pattern.I prefer more of Ezine.

I was writing for an e-zine before and the pay was good. However, it is not in English so I cannot post the link here. Anyway, an e-zine is actually an electronic magazine with articles on a regular basis. The e-zine that I was writing for uploads 4 new articles every week. A newsletter is like a small newspaper that is emailed to the subscribers. So if you subscribe to a newsletter about pets, you get news about pets more likely around the world on a regular basis. But that’s via email only.
