Is affiliates really worth the effort?

For everyone who has used their affiliate link to gain Seocheckout more members, do you find it worth the effort to advertise your referral link. I know %10 is a fair price, but how often does someone actually buy/sell services that you refer. I am interested in beginning to advertise, but wish to see everyone's personal stories/experience with the referring members.

I've heard some really good success stories from Seocheckout members who built a big downline of affiliates. Really though, it depends on how effectively you advertise your affiliate link. If you only put it out there a few times, of course, you are not going to have many sign ups.

Hello,

I have a couple of affiliate sites, I do not advertise anywhere, nor have I got any SEO work done on them - yet. (Updating my affiliate script is a main concern for me now) I generally get about 1-3 affiliate sales a day.. and so far i have about $40 in revenue from affiliates. This is all without me doing 'nothing' other then uploading my script to my domain. Is affiliates really worth the effort?

Now, for the future, I am expecting to get about $350-$750 a day in sales from affiliates.. because then I will be advertising, and doing SEO work constantly. My goals are:

  1. Earn $3,000 per day in 1-2 months
  2. Earn $4,500 per day in 2-4 months
  3. Earn $10,000 per day in 4-8 months

... you get the point..

If you want me to be brutally honest... gaining affiliates on Seocheckout is actually quite easy.. it's harder for me to gain affiliates for different websites that have an affiliate program.

Now, if you want a tip.. Buy a domain geared towards social promotion, create a script or buy one and list all the social promotion services.. those seem to be very HIGH selling services at the moment, next in line is of course SEO, and than traffic services, and other/bid services.

I hope this helps, I'll probably reply back to this post after my affiliate store is completed, and the update for my script is completed.

Kind Regards,
Everett

Yes, it is certainly worth it. If you can find high converting areas to advertise like SEO forums, it works.

I have a couple of users that buy every day (or often at least). I referred them a long time ago which is why I love this affiliate program. Anyway, those type are the golden gooses. They are the type you should look for. High converting, buying often and repeatedly.

Hello,

I know what you mean, I have an affiliate whom just registered and already purchased over $210 worth of services.. that's an easy $21 for me. Pretty nice indeed!

Kind Regards,
Everett

Great replies so far.
I believe it's worth it. I went on a "Affiliate-Hunt" during the second Seocheckout contests.
I won the second place in that contest and got prize money of $400.

Besides this, it depends on different things. Such as:
"How much time are you spending?" and "How do you spend your time?"

You can't force your affiliates to purchase something, so just getting tons of affiliates won't work. You need affiliates who's got money and are ready to spend it! ... And how can you know for sure that they'll spend money? You can't.

The best part of the Affiliate program is that you're gonna get 10% for life. Even if your affiliate buys something today, tomorrow or in about a month or two, you'll still get your 10%, which is awesome!

Here's a couple of screenshots of my affiliate purchases:

Note the dates... I would say it's worth it. No question about it.
But it depends on how much time you're spending to find the affiliates like I said above..
Then again.. Even if you're spending 100 hours and you'll end up with 10 affiliates.. These affiliates will STILL bring you cash for life.

Best regards,

Affiliate marketing is worth it. Look at the big picture. Imagine if you had 1000 affiliates making purchases regularly, even if just $35 each month per affiliate. At 10%, that would be $3.00 commission per affiliate or $3500 total your part. It all adds up. Just get more active affiliates who are into marketing and your affiliate sales will increase.

Another thing, there will usually only be a few really active affiliates in your downline such as people who make a purchase daily/weekly. And, everyone else will make an occasional purchase. And, some will just make a purchase and then become inactive. That's why you need to keep recruiting for affiliates.

Absolutely worthwhile - it's rapidly shaping up to be the third biggest affiliate earner earner thanks to the affiliate feed splash page and webpage feeds we built (get one yourself HERE and HERE). We put the splash pages on traffic exchanges and social exchanges and results have been amazing. The webpage feed is running like a sidebar advert inside our various business websites, not as much return as the splash pages but still regular affiliates and good sales

The thing is it depends on your effort, you need to find relevant places where you can advertise for better result, webmaster forums would be good place I would say.

If there is a product, there is a market. Affiliate marketing is also a good opportunity to earn. But it depends on how much you work for it and how efficiently you do that.
Many people try to promote affiliate urls the way the street hawkers do and I dare to say that don't work much. Because people like to bye not to be sold.
If you can find the way to recommend affiliate products or services like a true recommendation, i.e. you refer the recommended product or services for the sake of your listeners or readers not for the sake of your own profit, you are on the right way and it'll make you earn.

Getting affiliates is a smart way to support a site and help it grow. The more affiliates or users a site has the more sales. That will keep it in business much longer so everyone benefits and can earn money.
