To get published in a book offline, you would have to meet stringent editorial criteria, for writing quality (fiction and nonfiction) as well as documenting your sources (such as for nonfiction). This is not true of online publication where you simply click the submit button to get published.

The requirements for publishing online are more relaxed than in magazines, which tend to have a longer shelf life. If you want to get published offline, you should be a noted author or expert, willing to back up your facts. Online where many sites will publish just about anything.

Though some of us have only ever been published online such as via blogs or Kindle, there are many writers who rarely if ever go online to publish. And, for these people, the offline world is the only publication avenue. This might seem old fashioned for some but for those authors it feels like the right thing.

Mostly i prefer to publish in online, it is better than publishing offline because it is the easier way to publish and also it takes lesser time to work with that... Being online is gets more effective by updating the content regularly, so select online for publishing.

I would not mind the money they pay at an offline publication but the competition for those magazines is intense. And, it's a rare writer who is published there.

This got me thinking. I was paid 675 pesos or around $22 for each article published in Animal Scene magazine, that's a major pet magazine here. In websites that accept articles for publication, they pay 1 cent per word or around $10 for a 500-word article. Comparing the 2 articles, offline publication pays more and it has more prestige as well. However, it's not easy to get published offline unlike in online sites, it is easier as long as you write well.
