Copy and paste several different parts of the article (about 6-5 words long), and paste it Google search.
If it's a duplicate, it will show up there how to check the originality of a content

CopyScape would most likely work for whole articles. I've never used CopyScape, but it's extremely common.

I think I have seen in one discussion about duplicate contents the comment of Beverly. Hmm, wait, I think it’s the post of Beverly that you get a portion of the content and search it with a search engine. When it is copied or even portions of it are copied, it will appear in the search list together with the source. That way, you can check the source if the content was really copied or note.

There's really no surefire way of checking unless the article was 100 percent copied from somewhere else. You can use all the checking sites on the net and the results can still be wrong. Most copycats won't post an exact copy, they would edit it a little changing the words, the title and rearranging the structure of the paragraphs and or sentences. When this happens you won't be able to trace if its an original or a copy.

I also use google search and copyscape to check for uniqueness of articles before publishing. Well we need to have unique content due to Google rules in order to not be punished for double content, but Google search tell us it self if there is same or similar content out there.
