Creative Writing (Stories-Factual, Fictional, Historical, etc)

Do you ever get the urge to write a story based on whatever is in your head?
Do you feel we could benefit by having a section for individuals to post their stories to share?

I LOVE writing stories!
My mind gets overwhelmed by my imagination. and there are times when I write copious amounts at a time just to ease my brain. It becomes frustrating at times because I can't seem to shut my brain off when it hits me...lol

Is there any one out there who deals with the same?
If so, how do you deal with it? Creative Writing (Stories-Factual, Fictional, Historical, etc)Creative Writing (Stories-Factual, Fictional, Historical, etc)Creative Writing (Stories-Factual, Fictional, Historical, etc)

Having an over active imagination is a really good thing, especially for a writer. And, at least you are not plagued with writer's block, which can happen to so many writers. I'd say just enjoy the experience.

There's this one story I've been writing off an on for the past year and a half or so. I'll write write write, and then I don't feel like working on it any longer (so far I've got about 27 pgs). So I take a break from it for a while. But in between times my mind drives me crazy, because it doesn't shut off... Kind of like the energizer bunny...lol

I haven't touch the one story in quite a while, as I've been channeling my creativity through promoting and advertising, writing articles, review, etc. When it comes to advertising, the stories that I think of can be quite elaborate, and in tune with real life experiences. Thanks to the way my mind works though, it can take a long period of time to get it the way I want it. My other half says " You don't need to go over it anymore! It's great!"... But not in my eyes.

OCWD = Obsessive Compulsive Writing Disease...lol

I have an overactive imagination but I rarely write for the fun of it. I love writing but usually am more focused on my jobs that I have.

I spent a long time writing fiction. And, I never felt fulfilled. But, then I started article writing for the web and content creation and found my niche. Some people just really love fiction and others love nonfiction. I found financial and creative success when I made the leap to nonfiction and very happy with my decision. For me, it still takes lots of creative effort to find just the right combination of words to evoke an emotional response in my reader.

I'm an active member on a literature forum and often we role play the characters, inventing scenarios and imagining how the story could have gone differently. It's so much fun.

I started writing, by writing poems, then I moved to story writing. My first book was an anthology of poems, My second book was a story book. However, I have not written stories since a long time. When I began writing for newspapers, I began writing articles instead of stories. Then I moved to internet writing and began writing contents for the internet. I still have a desire to write stories however, I am yet to consider publishing my stories on my blogs.

I am also a creative writer. When I overthink more, I always have more stories to write about. I can decide to talk about some of the imaginations with someone so we can make jokes and then my mind will relax. When I am alone, I prefer to write my thoughts down in short points so I can generate a nice story from it later.

I have to admit that I am not a fiction writer. I am more inclined to write facts and figures, so to speak. But I have several friends who are creative writers. Even my husband is a creative writer who writes not only stories and movie scripts but also songs. He said that he enjoys writing fiction but he also gets tired when only few are reading his stories. And from him I learned that writing is not a good livelihood for you may go hungry when your income depends on it.
