Want to learn a new language

I would love to learn a new language so I can add translation services to my writer's portfolio.

I am contemplating Rosetta Stone as it's used by embassy personell and their families to learn a new language before transfer to location.

I would love to know how you learn another language, such as what are your best techniques or sites used and if you have used Rosetta stone before.

For the money they are charging for a basic course, you could actually do much better. Many sites will teach you basics of a language such as common greetings, ordering out at a restaurant. For the more advanced courses, it might be worthwhile to buy a dedicated language course, especially if you want to learn the language quickly.

So many sites online that will teach you a language for free or sign up for free or low cost local continuing education services to learn a new language.

Simply watch movies that use the language you are interesting in learning and read the subtitles. After awhile, you will pick up many phrases and language patterns of native speakers.

The best option to learn any new language is YouTube. For example if any person wants to learn new language like c or c++ , we prefer you tube. Similarly if you want to learn french or any other language just prefer websites and you tube.

thanks

Youtube is a good source of educational videos and tutorials, possibly even for languages. I'll do a search on the site to see what they have.

I'm also thinking of learning German or Spanish since I would be translating for some clients that speak those languages as well. I might try the website you listed to see how good they are in helping people learn new languages.
