The worst part of your job as a freelancer?

What is the worst part of your job as a freelancer?

I don't like dealing with irritable customers who demand so much for next to no money. They are already paying so little yet want so much.

I would say that the worst job is actually not having an opportunity to show what you can do. Basically, the worst part is no job.

@WynDavies, this is inevitable, but you can notify the Buyer as to what you will and won't do to decrease your headaches.

I love working on the blogs and forums where I am hired for article writing and forum posting. And, when the job is over, I really miss those places and wish they would hire me again. I get very attached to the people there. And, as much as I want to just go back and hang out as a regular unpaid member, most times other work/family commitments do not allow. So the worst part for me is not seeing my friends there again on that particular site. :/

Completely Agree 100% - Also dislike buyers or don't exactly understand what SEO is or what they are buying.

Yes, Beverly. I think that's because you are a very warm-hearted person. I have currently stopped providing like4like points as they are very time consuming and get you a very little amount of money after doing a lot of work. And I miss the good buyers who always gave me good reviews and were very polite and understanding. I find it very hard to say "no" to them.

same with me also. i stopped some services like manual backlinks because of the little cash and so much time involved to do it. and even some buyers may even criticize your work at the end.

I hate dealing with sometimes waiting for work. I like to keep a schedule but sometimes the buyer is not on the same schedule as me so I get the order later than I wanted to.

angie, you have a valid opinion and point there. i go with you on this.

for one to earn that amount, he must really do alot of promotions and constant bumping and must have a very high level that will build trust in your potential buyers or better still permanently feature your gig.

And, you have to be able to work fast while producing high quality results. It's not good enough just to give high quality as you have to be finished by your deadline so you can start another paid project afterward.

You can give very little for $4.00. What can you possibly do for that small amount of money, unless it was with automated software?

And, maybe this rejection is a little embarrassing, especially if you know you offer the best work. It can hurt to be rejected. No one likes rejection. It always stings.

Not always embarrassment so much as anger, when you know the other person is lying and saying you didn't do a good job, when you know in your heart that you did the best job you could.

Some buyers are just impossible to satisfy . I have gone through this situation the buyer ordered my online service for $10 and asked me 3 times to come online again and again for his misunderstanding .
Even I have gone through the limits . Some buyers inbox me to give me sample work . I also provide youtube services so they asked me show the views and quality on there videos . So I even did that for free to prove them I am delivering a good quality but still no orders even not a courtesy reply of thanks from them till now The worst part of your job as a freelancer? but out of these inbox buyers some were very true and came back for big order and now my regular client .

I think this is not the worst part . The worst part is when you are so nice to the buyer and in return he treats you like a beggar. There are many buyers here who dont respect sellers . Personally I dont care about these buyers and I always reject order . As my self respect is above money always The worst part of your job as a freelancer?

The worst part has to be when they want cheap or free services. Why would anyone think that we would want to work for less than our regular prices? Those people are too cheap and don't deserve quality services as they don't appreciate all the work that goes into it. They think that just because we work online and from home that somehow we only want $3.00 for our work. Why take $3.00 when it is worth $30?

The worst part is you are vulnerable to fraud (the clients may never pay you, or rate you so low on freelancing site that you will not get any jobs). Rejection is also another worse thing about becoming a freelancer. You will bet more rejections that approval. I applied to over a 100 jobs on upwork before I got my first job.

In my freelancing, I am with a website that gives ratings to their writers. Whenever I would get a low rating, it ruins my day because I don’t believe that I deserve a low rating since I always adhere to the rules about the length of my post and the substance. Besides, I always make it a point to be engaging in my posts that there are usually replies that quotes my posts. That is why I hate rating because I find so many people who are unfair in their judgment of writers.

The worst part of being a freelancer to me is when im looking for a good working site or freelance site. I would look for a reliable site by
testing a lot of sites and most would be scam sites. It takes a lot of time and effort before I could find a good working platform and it's really annoying sometimes.

The low income and long hours spent to earn said income. Sometimes it's unfair that freelancers are paid such low amounts. But I know that this is due to competition and the exchange rate, so in some countries freelancers may be earning better with their exchange rate and buying power while in other countries like mine all I can do with my earnings is to buy snacks and small things.
