    What to do when someone blatantly copies your service?

    Hey guys
    I'm not one for moaning so before I proceed, this isn't that...well maybe just a little bit ha ha

    The reason I thought I would bring this up, is I've noticed a newly featured service being offered which is blatantly a rip off of what I offer.

    I make a personal promise never to undercut just to undermine someone else's hard work but this guy, I guess it doesn't apply...different cultures I guess

    I found his username on Fiverr offering the same crappy nuke links but here he's decided to follow my format "and" mention this "hidden" strategy that I doubt very much he has.

    In one of his feedbacks, the report was sent in a day so it's just crappy push button link blasts

    Ok ok..I'm ranting now I know ha ha

    I spent soo much time developing those pages and trying to offer a unique service but now it feels like ill wake up and find him offering anything I offer at half the price....

    The only thing I can really do at the moment is improve my services even further but looking at his page, he'll probably just copy me. Lol

    Anyone else had any experiences like this?

    One of the easiest ways to make some extra money, (if you're a rookie or if you're ignorant/rude) is to copy a top sellers service & offer it for less. The copycat realized that you're an awesome seller & thought it would be nice to make some money. I would probably send him a message about this and ask him to change his title/description or something like that.

    If that doesn't work I'd probably change my own service (if I could make it even better somehow. Change title, description or provide even more/less etc.) or clearly state within my own description that my service isn't anything like the copycats. (Without being rude about it.)

    The quality is the key. If you provide a better service and you are certain of it. Let your potential clients know that.

    Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yeah it really felt disheartening when I first saw this to be honest. Since the start I thought everyone was playing fair on the front page but I guess not! I actually found another member who'd not even bothered to change the copied text ( whilst he might think it's just a few words he's copied, there's been a lot of thought and my own man hours put into the service pages, let alone my services.

    If he wasn't featured, it wouldn't matter so much but there's now 2 people on that front page (one that basically rewrote and followed my format, and another that didn't even bother to rewrite it!)

    You're totally right regarding quality, and I know that my service is ten times better quality so I'll be spending time getting this message over to potential clients, rather than focusing any negative energy towards this guy ( just an unproductive way to do business)

    It's already caused a drop in sales as far as I can see and as a lot of clients here on clerks have little experience with seo, they might be fooled into thinking they're getting a better deal cus of the buttons he presses to produce all those spammy links. Ha ha

    Anyway, on a level playing field I would wipe the floor with this guy so bring it on. A bit of competition is healthy I guess! Even if it is just copied!

    I noticed the same one as you last week, I knew instantly it was copy-paste sort of from you What to do when someone blatantly copies your service? I don't have to look at your description right now and I know which sentences are copy+pasted completely.

    There are many copy-pasters, mostly resellers. Funny ones are those from Asia who can't put 1 English sentence together and they copy whole gig's descriptions including how they live in England and own an article writing company...

    And btw, happened to me before. I had a unique gig about a year ago and someone just copy pasted the whole features, but didn't have the skills to include an essential part of it - a link pyramid with 10 different URLs in Tier 1, so he just offered crappy 2k profile links and promised the same result as I did. Not to mention he was a regular visitor in the FAQ area, where he asked questions like "Whick links are better - Wiki or Profile links" and "What is meta description".

    Well it's good to know people noticed and funny you say about these copy/pasters...I've even saw a Fiverr gig here on clerks the other day. The seller had videos of "himself" offering things like testimonials etc. in one video he was a bald white man and the other, a small Chinese lady...lol. Hilarious actually!

    So you must have felt like me...horrible feeling when you realise someone's basically making money with little effort or originality of their own. I guess like your guy in the faqs section, they always get pulled up in the end. As I said, this guy is on Fiverr with the same username as he has here so people will see that eventually I hope...oh and he's got some blatantly fake reviews from his mate a few times to add to the b.s that he's promoting lol.

    I don't think there's a lot I can do if it's just rewritten and looks very similar. It's okay, it just pushes me to provide even more and get creative!

    Hi,

    Best option for a copied Service is to send in a helpdesk ticket, if it's clear a Service was copied then action will be taken. Unless someone lets us know about it then it is unlikely we'll just so happen to see both Services at the same time and make the connection.

    The featured slots are 100% first come, first serve so if something similar is added then that's not something that is against the rules but any kind of copying certainly is.

    I've had my traffic Services copied word for word enough times that I have lost count of it. It's very annoying and clearly shows the person copying shouldn't be providing Services if they cannot even think of their own description.
