Website/blog reviews & critiques subforum

I would like a subforum where people could submit their website and ask for critique, review and suggestions for ways to improve the site. This would not be specifically for the domain name, so it's not a domain appraisal but for the actual website or blog and would allow site owners to get feedback on their site color/theme/layout, content, etc.

I've noticed numerous threads on the forum (in various subforums), which already ask for site review (such as where people are asking, 'what do you think of my site?'), but the discussions don't seem to belong in those subforums.

These type of subforums seem to be popular on most large webmaster related sites, so it might be a good thing to have one here for our own members.

If there's a specific subforum where such site evaluation requests should be placed, please say so or maybe we could get a dedicated subforum for this specific purpose, such as 'Website design & Content - Reviews & Critiques' or 'Website Reviews/Critiques'.

oh awesome! I look forward to it.

And, I was thinking maybe add it under Website Management?
Anywhere is good.

I like tweaking websites and always get these ideas on how people can improve their site when I look at them; can't wait to contribute. :3

Hey, I forgot all about this, sorry.

I was just thinking there though when I seen this again, that do you think if we added this new forum, people would just use it as a way to advertise their links / website while not really caring about the reviews and critique they get?

Yeah, that would be really crummy if the site critique subforum were just used for spam.

Though, we could moderate the subforum heavily and discussions where the OP bothered to come back to update (such as thanking others for replies or responding to criticism etc) would be allowed to stay up and those posters that just dropped a link and then ran off, their discussion could be deleted. A rules thread pinned on that subforum would be a good idea, such as detailing how spam won't be tolerated.

Just thinking how this type of site critique subforum is very popular on other sites in this same webmaster/SEO niche and maybe we would get more interactivity with members if they could ask for feedback.

We could add the forum, then have it so that when a new topic is posted in it, it goes onto the moderation queue, then one of us can view the thread and make a decision on wither it is just advertising and deny it, or wither its a genuine feedback thread about their website and we approve it?

We could like trial it and after a few weeks if its no good we can just change it to something else and move the threads create their to other suitable forums.

I have now added the new Website Reviews area within the Website Management Forum.
Please have a read at the rules I have wrote there.

PS: I cant put new threads on moderation, I can only put all or no messages posted on moderation queue.
