Would you start a copy-cat blog?

I just found a really cool blog about one of my favorite subjects. I love the look of the blog and all the content. I'm pretty sure that I could write or source similar content (not identical, so no issues with duplicate content) and possibly even advertise in the same places. I want to own this type of blog. Do you think it's a good idea to copy cat someone else's blog?

And what good would it serve to simply copy cat someone else's hard work? Yes, you would have a ready made blog but that's like cheating the other person out of their life's work. How is that fair? Come up with an original idea of your own and you will shine.

Steve Jobs' approach might help you develop a profitable perspective. He wan't necessarily focused on making something better than what his competitors made. He was focused on making it different. So how can you make your blog different from your competitor's blog? That's what you might need to answer.

I don’t know what you mean by a copy-cat blog but if it isnot a clone then it’s okay. They might not admit it but even architects copy designs of existing structures. But, of course, the copying is not exact and more often, the copycat enhances the copied design. With a site, you can base your design on what you see but you have to make some alterations with the framing and also the colors not to mention the fonts. That’s it, you may feel it to be copied but it’s not really a copycat blog.

Why not, provided you wouldn't be copying one for one then it allowed.Check the most blog on news, entertainment, and gossip. The copy one another stories but to be unique they write them in very different ways, style and pattern. So go ahead own your own blog but have a unique content than your counterpart.

Sure, why not? As long as you are writing original content. The fact is, there are few truly new ideas. It is all recycled. We gain inspiration from where we find inspiration. Even our tech doesn't come from original ideas. I was watching a documentary a while back, and it was all about how scientists and inventors had got the idea for this or that from the original Star Trek series.

Yes I would start a copycat blog but if I can be able to earn from it without putting the original poster out of business.

Do not make it obvious that you are copying, it will be a waste of time if you cannot generate your own ideas and always depend on the ideas made by the other person. You can also consider working together with this person or share your interest about copying their blog so they can also share some tips with you.

I think you'd have to be careful. You could end up being accused of copying. if it's a blog in the same niche you can find your own space find your own way of generating your own original content. Never copy someone else's idea you lose credibility and influence which is very important online. I agree there is nothing new under the son of the bible says. Find a way to make your work original.
