I own numerous domain names, one for my blog and several others that I am going to be using for upcoming projects. You will more than earn your money back for the domain when blogging, so no reason not to get one.

I started with free blogging platforms such as blogger and wordpress, however, I never went too far with my free blogs. When I was ready to launch my own site, I registered domains and bought hosting plans. I have custom domains for my blogs. It is always better to have your own domain if you consider blogging serious work.

many people start with free blogging platforms and once they belive that they can grow with a self hosted website, they buy domains. Having your own custom domain and a hosting plan does not cost you much. You can start with a self hosted website for as little as $23 a year ($22 for one year hosting and $3 for a domain like club, xyz etc.) the second year charges can go higher though.

I have registered my blog domain last year. And it seems like it is working out for me. You can see that some of the time the blog domain is something you can make use of for promotion. You can see that it'd be reasonable to make use of the domain for the backlinks. And that being said, domain registration can be always needed. If you blog less then that means you don't need the domain.

Nope, I'm using Facebook as my blogging platform. It's free and it's easier to get traffic. I've tried creating my own stand alone blogsite and it seems illogical for me because I'm getting the bulk of my traffic from Facebook, so I tried using it as a blogging platform and found it to be better because simply put, it's got a billion users.
