    What was your worst experience as a forum owner?

    Once I worked hard on a forum for well over a year and had to shut it down when I got a job and ran out of time to run the forum. I thought about selling the forum but by then, the forum traffic and membership had dwindled so much, it was difficult to sell. So I shut the forum down. I'm still thinking about reopening the forum. That was the worst experience I've faced as a forum owner.

    Being cyber stalked by my then admin was the worst experience. It made me not even want to have staff for a very long time for fear it would happen again. Though I know I would be very happy to have my best friend as admin of my site. He is a forum owner and very busy so I don't know if he would take the job. But I would trust him to do the right thing.

    Oh Beverly that is just awful. I could not imagine being stalked by a staff member but I guess that it does happen.

    I don't know if it was his intention to do that at first, or something which happened more out of frustration, it just got out of hand quickly. Maybe he had something going on in his personal life that caused the behavior. You can never say when dealing with someone online what they are going through in their own life that causes this type of situation.

    This is the story of a local forum about horse racing. There are several forums in the same niche that are fighting for supremacy. One forum wanted to be controversial that some of the owners started to argue about the policies of the racing industry. The ploy backfired and majority of the members left the community for another forum. Now that forum is still existing but has a very low activity and they say that it cannot recover anymore.
