What was your reason for starting a forum?

I started a forum to have another place to talk with my blog readers and it was just more fun having them start discussions and not always having to come up with the posts for everyone to talk about. What were your reasons?

I liked the idea of having a general chat forum so we could talk about anything. Though the same concept could just as easily be applied to a niche forum with a very large general chat subforum. And, that's the way I'll go next time.

I do not have one right now but I would have to say a good reason to have one is because you are passionate about the niche.

A good reason is to make friends, try to earn extra income and share your knowledge.

I agree with Barry that you can meet some great people on these sites. Friendships that really do last.

How soon do you expect to have another forum Beverly?

I admire your situation in having an enjoyable forum that is connected to your blog. For sure you are getting a good traffic to your sites with that combination. But I like the part that you enjoy the forum. My plan is actually a blog of my own but now I am beginning to rethink my stand because a forum is more dynamic than a blog and obviously more enjoyable especially when the members are in the same niche.
