One that answers the question on hand and does not give a lot of fluff. One that is helpful to others and does not just repeat what others have said.

Quality over quantity.

I agree with Angie. I know a lot of people that want their forum to look populated so they accept one word answers but to me that is not really that acceptable. Some of the posts need only a short sentence but not every response should be this way.

Sense and substance define the quality of a post. I remember the audition for article writers in one e-magazine. I was asked to help in the evaluation of the sample writings of applicants. One paper had a long article with good paragraphing. The story is about a budding tv star. But the entire article had nothing in it except that idea that the tv actress is a potential star. That was clearly an article with no substance because it has no information to share. And it has no sense either for the sentences were neatly written but were just repeating the central thought. For me, a quality post can be a few sentences but each sentence has information to share.

I don't own a forum, however, I am a forum poster. I post in over a dozen forums every day. When the admin is asking quality forum posts, I interpret this as:
post that is 2-3 lines
Gramatically correct
is on topic
has substance
