What is social media marketing and why to use it?

Social media marketing is connecting and engaging with other social media website users in order to do marketing of your business, products, services etc... That connection via postings and conversations is used to build your trust and trust of your brand or product, which should result in more traffic to your sales pages and actual sales of your product or services.

Good topic. I personally use Facebook as my main source of traffic whenever I launch a new product or service. Since I've been a freelancer for a few years now I've also built myself a good following and some reputation online. I manage multiple facebook fan pages too, where I reach fans of my products and services so whenever I launch a new product I cross-promote it on my other fan pages, as long as it's related, and that way I'm able to gain more sales, gain more likes, fans and shares on my content. I like the fact of making one thing go viral by the help of others, without them actually doing anything besides a simple like or share. It's a perfect method to build reputation, following and a fantastic way of making sales and building business relations too!

Exactly. But also that's why i would never even try to explain to someone if Facebook is better then Twitter, or questions like that, because it's impossible to answer. If you gain better reputation on Facebook then Twitter, it's normal that Facebook going to work better for you and your marketing or traffic...

Indeed! As I've had the best results using Facebook the way I'm using it, I would obviously recommend Facebook and my methods to others too. However, that wouldn't directly mean that they should only be focusing on that, and it doesn't mean that I neglect other platforms. I just prefer Facebook because of my results I've had with it. I think people should just try them all or at least some of them and try different things on each, and after awhile compare the results they got. That's probably the best option so they can choose for themselves.

Nice post.I think the biggest platform to really advertise products,services and brands is the social media.They're billions of people online on each account,it pertinent that these avenue is fully utilized for traffic and marketing.

Social media marketing now very effective and popular ways for generating people so quickly and freely. Because mass people are engaging on several social media. E.g. Facebook, twitter, linkedin, pinterest and google plus. My all mentioned site very powerful and huge people are very active to communicate each other.

And I am using Facebook and other social media for offering my goods quickly. Specially I am using Facebook to offer people about goods by creating Fan page and groups. I have many fan pages and involving there so many peoples and I have some Facebook groups too. When I plan to advertise or promote any product. I am just going to send message on several fan pages and groups.

My observation says that I have many friends in Facebook who are doing this social media marketing for their businesses and personal concerns. They would be posting advertisements and promotions on their timeline that sometimes they even tag friends to force them to react. And for the question on why to use it, well, why not use it when it is free at your command? Just post on your timeline and that’s it.
