Bluetooth USB Dongle

Bluetooth USB Dongle I came upon this piece of wireless Bluetooth hardware that can be used for multiple purposes but the one that interest me so much is sending and receiving files with it from computer, smartphone and PDA.

It saves your system from getting corrupted with virus by using flash drives.

I haven't seen one yet, so just to clarify, this USB can receive files via Bluetooth. So i reckon that it has to be attached to a gadget or computer for power or does it have its own power source? Either way it seems to be very useful.

Its power will be coming from the device you're going to plug it in. I bought Bluetooth USB dongle in 2006 when I was still in college. Its size is bigger compared to today's Bluetooth USB dongle.

Bluetooth is very helpful in sending and receiving files from different devices. Files can be transferred even without a physical/cable connection. You can also limit the use of flash drive when both computers have Bluetooth connectivity. You can connect audio devices such as wireless speakers and wireless headset through Bluetooth. When you buy the latest laptop model, there's possibly a Bluetooth hardware built-in to it so no need to buy one.

I guess it's very helpful. I actually haven't seen it personally. I also don't have a plan on purchasing it, maybe just in the future.

USB Bluetooth Dongle is a very useful device for sending and receiving files to and from your computer or laptop. It can save your flash drive or your computer from any harmful files and viruses.

I wouldn't consider file transfer via bluetooth to be 100% safe. It will definitely keep you safe from autorun executable files that will try to install themselves on your PC the moment you plug in the flash drive but there is software (you might want to install) that comes bundled with spyware or adware and you'll only find that out after it has already been installed. So regardless of how you transfer your files, to be safer, scan them for viruses first before using them.

I have to agree with what you said here. As convenient as it may seem to use a Bluetooth USB it's always better to be safe and virus free, rather than choosing convenience.

I agree with you. Most of us are tired of having corrupted files because of computer viruses. So, sending and receiving files using wireless connection like bluetooth is a good option. If you have a latest laptop or computer, most probably they have a built-in bluetooth device so you wouldn't need to buy this one. But if you don't have that built-in Bluetooth device in your computer, it's a good thing to have this.

Yes, that's a great thing, because we don't know and we are not totally secured while we are on the internet.

I agree. I don't think that modern laptops would need this kind of device as they already have their own bluetooth. Maybe for those old laptops, this device might come in handy.

Thank you for sharing this one to us, I will keep that in mind and used it in the near future.

I am not sure about the adoption of bluetooth now a days. Considering USB dongles are now capable of receieving the 4G data. And they seem to be being used by different telecom companies out there. So on that note you can see that it's reasonable to make use of the USB if it supports 4G instead and can become Wifi spot.

Interesting how technology has progressed so far in just a decade or so. It's pretty incredible and it makes me wonder just where we'll be at in another 10 years time.

I agree with you. I also admire the people behind these great inventions and innovations. Very commendable.

Yes, same here, if they didn't invent that kind of product, we are not able to make a job a lot easier.

We might have flying cars, send humans on Mars, or cure for stage 4 cancer due to technology. Nothing is impossible in 10 years.

I'd love to see a cure for cancer on the list! I've known many people that have suffered through it and passed away - it's an awful disease. Thankfully medical technology has progressed so far that it really could happen.

I know right, it is indeed possible. Some say scientists have already found a cure but the pharmaceutical industry is still milking from it since they make more money by that way. 100% cancer-free treatment will stop that from happening.

I used this in my wireless keyboard and mouse when. It is really helpful in many ways and the connection doesn't lose. I also use this when transferring matters.

I see, so it's not just for transferring files but also serves as a probe for Bluetooth devices as well. Pretty neat. However, do modern PCs like laptops nowadays have Bluetooth capability in the motherboards? I'm not sure about this.

Oh, this one is really helpful. Well, I don't have it yet, but I'm now thinking of buying it.

I used bluetooth usb device before to transfer files from gadget to another gadget. It was an ordinary usb. it was not a wireless. But, it helps a lot in transferring a files. I am no longer updated with accessory nowadays since mostly of the gadgets today can directly be connected thru wi-fi. So, files are shared easily. Technology are more advance compared before. It's hassle free nowadays.

I actually have seen this in many online shopping sites under the gadgets. It's very weird looking but very interesting and I haven't used it. Is it very durable?

I haven't seen any products just like this in the market and I am not even aware that we already have these kind of technology nowadays which is really great. It is really useful since we can now avoid our files to be corrupted by these unwanted viruses that might damage our files or documents. It is good to have these because it can make our work more faster and convenient than before.

I am curious to know on how much does it cost to have such Bluetooth USB Dongle because I am planning to buy that one in the future. I find it to be cool and very interesting because it would help me to easily transfer my important files from other computers without worrying to be infected with malware and to experience other problems that may arise.

I don't get what it is for, is this a USB device that is plugged into a USB port so that it will have Bluetooth capability? I mean if you intend to transfer files, why use this instead of a flash drive where transfer speeds are much faster?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

gutzman
For transferring files, a built in Bluetooth nowadays is common. We can also use wifi hotspots and apps to be able to do the same thing. Some wireless mouse and keyboards already have this function also. The only thing that I think this will be used of is when none of the above mentioned was available. Other than that I don't know if it has other uses.

I just remember when im using usb dongle with wireless mouse and laptop in a crampled place. Imagine im using the mouse on the wall while clicking. This dude is really save me because of space saver, lol.

I haven't seen this kind of product before. I mean, does it look like the USB that is used by a bluetooth mouse to connect to a computer? Or is it just used as a channel to make the transfer faster than the regular bluetooth connection? I guess, most of the technology nowadays like laptops and phones have their own built in bluetooth connection. I don't think there's a need for this one unless it has a claim for some unique performance it could give us.

That looks really old (in technology terms) and now, most bluetooth connected devices can just airdrop or send files across wifi without an extra part like this. I also think it may leave you open to potential virsuses and other issues since you cannot really control who can see it and you can access it like what you can do on a phone or computer.

Hey there!
Sounds quite helpful, but I've never seen nor heard of those before. Are they expensive, and do they require something additional in order to work? For example when I tried to connect my Smartphone to the PC with a cable I had to install some application because it wouldn't recognize the device.

When you say Bluetooth that means you connect to a device with the use of wireless just like wifi. What is the difference of Bluetooth with wifi? Are both safe against getting virus from another computer? Pardon me for this ignorant question but I am confused with what you said about virus contamination. It looks to me like using a USB that is directly connected to a computer is almost the same as being on wifi connection.

I also have not seen products like this on the market before. I love technology all the developments are super exciting. The Bluetooth USB Dongle seems like a nice one to me. Imagine not having to stick your flash or your USB everywhere? Imagine sending a file to save in a instant without worrying about whether it is saved or not. I would also hope that it has enough space to save most of your files. I think the USB and flash have very little space.
