What's with all the notifications?

Today, I logged in after a long time away from Seocheckout and found dozens of notifications waiting, for jobs like Youtube and social media and stuff that I'm not really qualified or interested in doing.  I don't remember signing up for these notifications.  Can someone tell me how to stop notifications or at least how to get notified of that are more relevant to me?

Hey,

the notifications you're receiving completely depends on which ones you have enabled. You can find several different options such as only receiving job notifications, only PMs, news, etc.

How to disable them or tune them to your likings? Well, quite easily. Just click on your name in the top right corner of the website and click "Settings" on the drop-down menu. Once you're on the settings page, scroll down to the notifications which are hard to miss and select the ones you want to keep on ;)

Hope that this helps!

You are receiving notifications because you have added skills (Forum_posting, seo, coding), and didn't toggle the option "Receive news and notifications about seocheckout" OFF. Basically whenever someone adds a WTB (want to buy) the feature will let others know with similar skills to see if they are interested in competing the job. However, whenever some users add a WTB (want to buy) they do not really use relevant keywords thus this is the reason why you are getting irrelevant results based from your skills.

This is usually a pain, but just go to your settings page and toggle OFF the option you want, or just remove the skills on your profile here.

Simply go to the settings and turn it off. It's that very simple it's not going to take you any time in doing so. It's true too much notification bores, it makes difficult for you to know where to start from.

I experienced this on one forum I write in, I think it's up to 2 months that I didn't login and when I did, I had tons of notifications which I had difficulty reading all of them. I simply read few and deleted the rest.

You best go through your settings and notifications... you may be signed up for a few like notifications for skills you may have or members that you are following so just check your settings and see what you have.

This is true. I also noticed I received notifications from members I follow. It is good we can do some adjustments on the settings if notifications is bothering us.

Currently, I am okay with all notifications since I log in almost everyday. But if ever I was to go offline for a longtime, I would disable everything.

Notifications from any forum we signed into would always come into our box unless we manually turned them off.I had the same problem with a forum called beer money, I was always bombarded with irrelevant notices and alerts until I manually turned the icons off.So simply go to your setting and click OFF on icons you don't want to be on.

I believe that's the best thing the poster should try to do to avoid getting those notifications that is not useful to him. Until he does that, the alerts might continue to cone in.

I have had the same problem with various sites in the past as well but because I was too lazy to actually login to a few of these sites to manually unsubscribe, it just filled up my email account quite a lot. I recently went ahead and unsubscribed from a lot of sites email notifications and I am so glad I did. It's nice to finally have an email account with no annoying emails

I think a lot of new and the old are sending the messages so that they can get the work. So that seems to be their way of saying that they are in need of the work. And they are ready to do it. So I find this more or less like spam to be honest. I don't know if it's going to be good enough on that part.

Yes, I think you need to select the options you are interested in and de select the rest. It is not helpful to get bombarded with jobs you are not interested in and that happens other places as well. I think your problem here will be resolved though.

That's funny! You're complaining about all the Notifications you receive and I'm wondering why I don't get enough. (O.o) When I sign in, I see some Alerts, but not a lot. I do like that I can quickly peruse them and see what interests me though. Since I've become a member of this forum, I've never had to modify any settings in my account. Everything seems to work just fine!

I get like 100+ notifications a day, but I have the email notifications turned off so that I don't hear my phone going off the entire time I'm doing something that isn't work related lol What

my "alerts" are mostly all from the forum sites that I had commented, none from what you had mentioned. I didn't subscribe any of them.
