What tips do you recommend for beginners in blogging?

I know that you need to have a lot of publicity on your blog that brings you traffic so it benefices you.
You also need to write consistently so your followers don't get bored and you should write things that are interesting to them.
I recommend and use the self-hosted version of WordPress and you should use a blog topic generator tool.

What tips can you tell to that person who is new in this?

I think knowing your content and being passionate about your content are the most important things when it comes to blogging. It is simply important to know what you are talking about, be able to discuss it comfortably and be knowledgeable about the content you have online. This is the way you can get the sort of good reputation you need in order to succeed in the online world.

Exactly! you need to really research what you are going to write about, because if there's a reader that knows more than you in the subject you pick they are going to lose interest in your writing fast!

Well in part, I think your enthusiasm for your subject should pay off even if there are more people who know more than you do. It may be your particular spin or take on the subject that interests people, more than having the most knowledge in the subject.

kgord,
I think that it is essential to be passionate about what you are writing about if you want others to enjoy and appreciate your content. Your audience, or potential audience, can pick up on your tone and your approach to your subject matter, and if you have passion and a genuine interest in what you are writing about, then your audience will pick up on that.

Not all people know their passion very well because I had met someone who said that we have the same passion of dogs but she appeared to be ignorant of the details about dogs. As an advice to a new blogger, take stock of your knowledge and make a list of your potential passions because sometimes you think your passion is pets but it is not really so. Be sure and definite with the niche otherwise you will be left empty-handed with the information that you should be sharing.

1. Find a niche your passionate about, so you 'll actually enjoy writing.
2. Buy some quality traffic. You'll instantly would have people reading your writing.
3. Be consistent in your post, no one wants to visit a site that post once a week, boring!
4. Don't start writing controversial content from the very beginnig you create the blog or you'll lose followers before you even start to gain them.
Hope you find it helpful!

I had co written a blog before and I have plans of putting up my own blog. But the primary objective of my blog is to express what's on my mind and earning from it is just secondary. In other words, my blog would be for my enjoyment. I can imagine myself when I retire from my job, I would have something to do and that is my blog.

Well, I consider myself intermediate when it comes to content writing. However, regarding writing and hosting my own content (blogging), I'm very new to the whole concept. Nevertheless, here are my tips I recommend for beginner bloggers.

  1. Become a quality writer: Get used to writing content for other peoples blogs and forums. In my opinion, the better you are as a content and article writer, the more likely you are to have a successful blog. So write, write, write!
  2. Research: Before you consider starting any blog, research the most popular niches available nowadays. However, the more important thing is to find a niche that you like. At the same time, make sure that niche is broad enough to further elaborate content on.
  3. Get in it for the right reasons: Of course, as writers, the ideal scenario would be to make a healthy passive income. Nothing is wrong with seeking this as a goal. However, get into blogging for the right reasons. If you're solely looking to earn an income from your site, you've already messed up. Focus on producing quality content that'll make your readers come back.
  4. Monetize your content: To make things clear, I suggest starting a blog and get it running for a few months. Then, after you have noticeable activity on your site, monetize that content! Don't get me wrong, nothing's wrong with monetizing from the jump. But you probably won't really see any rewards from it initially. The beautiful thing I like about content writing is that you can combine it with other techniques towards earning a passive income online (like internet marketing).
  5. Be patient: It's not going to happen overnight. In fact, you may build out a blog completely, only to start over once again. Take your time to build something out to your satisfaction. That way once it's up, you'll appreciate the quality of work you put into it from the start.

I hope that helps anyone like myself who is starting a blog from scratch. This is my basic strategy and so far it's been somewhat working!

Jonathan,
Great post here and a very helpful one. Being patient is definitely a huge part of it, I have found. That's tough, but Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say. Quality is key, and that takes time and editing and effort. I like your idea here, as well, about gradually monetizing the account after you have established good content and some reliable traffic. Furthermore, the writing has to be solid and compelling, or the blog will fail, I think, no matter what the circumstances.

I would say consistency is key. Having a set schedule on when to upload content is invaluable since readers won't have to second guess when to check back for new content. As a blog audience I would often get disappointed with some blogs whenever I checked back and couldn't find anything new, and eventually I lost interest in those sites. The ones that I stuck around with for years were the ones that were diligent in their content uploads and the quality of their work. It's why I try to employ the same standards now that I have my own blog.

I think the best tip I can give is - be simple and be direct. Adding too many strong and big words that require dictionary lookup is not a good option. And you won't be able to get more visitors this way. And for this reason bloggers should pay attention to what content they are posting. And they need to make things a bit simple. I see many bloggers doing good due to simplicity. It's just that monetizing part takes time though.

overcast,
Good advice here. Clarity is so important, and just because you might think you are being clear, if you are not objective or practiced enough to edit your own writing objectively, what you thought was coming across as clear could be totally muddled for the audience. Also, once again, as we have all said ad nauseum on blog forums, the money comes slowly.

Indeed money comes in very slowly. In fact in much slow way compared to others. You can see that it'd be better to consider the blogging in that case to be slow earner. But once setup properly it can earn some decent income. You may want to also include the fact that adblocker are going to affect the earning of people. So that's all I can say.

Your content needs to be amazing. It needs to be different and unique. If it is the same as another blog out there then you may not attract new readers because they will just go to and read from the established blogs that are already well known. You need to try to differentiate your blog from others. Like you said, you need to make sure that you constantly post content onto your blog so that your readers visit your blog every day and have something new to read.

If you want to run a successful blog then you need to treat it like a business. That meansWhat tips do you recommend for beginners in blogging?ost frequently and consistently. This is some of the best advice you can give about this topic, I think. Treating the blog like a real business with a set schedule and a set posting time will really provide the frequenters of the blog with some consistency and dependability when it comes to your content. Otherwise, if you are just posting randomly and sporadically, then your traffic will imitate that behavior...it will just show up randomly and sporadically as well.

I have a blog but I don't post on a daily basis. The reason is that I always try to undertake as much research as possible before writing an article and I try to find an attention grabbing title and make sure that my content is of high quality. I also have my articles reviewed by others before I post them on my blog. I have also created a Facebook page where I have shared details about my blog.

~ I did not know about communities and forums when I started blogging. But I'm glad I eventually found out about their existence. If for no other reason that I no longer feel like I'm all alone.

Groups on Facebook and Communities on Google Plus are OK. But if you can find a blogging community or a forum, join it. Try to find one where you can learn and earn. You'll get support and can commiserate with fellow members who are also trying to find their way through the blogging maze.

Join an online writing community, also. It's for article writers. Similar to blogging communities. It helps improve your writing skills. Most of them have revenue-share programs, along with supportive Admin and members.

If you can afford to pay for the blogging courses offered, then go ahead. If you can't, that's where these communities and forums come in handy. Forums like seocheckout, for example. What tips do you recommend for beginners in blogging?

~ Find blogs you really enjoy reading (search via Bloglovin or sites like that or blog directories), subscribe and visit often. Leave comments. Find the bloggers that will approve your comments and will also allow you to associate your blog URL to your name as a backlink. Not kidding. If you leave comments on a blog post, they go into moderation and you never receive approval or your comments don't become visible online, leave that blog in the dust! There are too many other bloggers out there who would happy to have visitors that leave comments behind. Leave worthwhile comments. Not one-word exclamations or boring one-liners that make the blogger think you didn't even bother to read their post.

~ There are many free blog publishing platforms to get started. If you are interested in trying to earn income from your blog, find out what the rules are about monetizing your blog. All blogging platforms are not created equal. Some allow certain things and some don't. You break the rules or you will have your blog deleted in a heartbeat!

~ BUDGETING: Anything that requires a monetary investment and you have the money to pay for it, then go ahead. If you don't have money, use what you have. Your brains, your skills, a laptop (or whatever device you use), and Internet access.

Most important. Don't expect immediate success. Be patient. Be persistent. Persevere.

Don't start blogging unless you are actually interested in blogging. If you do not have passion for blogging, you can never become a blogger. Dont' choose a blogging niche just because some one is successful on that niche. Choose a niche only if you are interested,
Don't start blogging to make money, blogging will never make you rich. You might earn money, but it will take years

Agreed! Blogging is really a long and challenging journey. Starting up in the blogging world is like going to a place you never been before. Sometimes you'll get lost. Frustrations and disappointments kick in when you receive a very small amount of traffic on your website. It feels like only a few are interested in reading your content. I'm just getting started my blogging journey so I really know how it feels like no one cares what you've written. I just keep on learning and keep on following successful bloggers. I know that before they've achieved victory, they first went through years of trying and failing.

Yes, money will come easily if you have developed great skills in those areas. If you have already skills before starting a blog, you could possibly start earning after you created your blog. Your blog could be just a way to show your skills to potential clients. But sometimes it takes time before money comes in.

whether you are blogging for fun or for money, you need skills to succeed. It does not make sense when your blog does not receive traffic even if you are not looking for making money. You need readers on your blog. You will receive readers only when your blog has a top position on SERP. IN order to have a top position on SERP, you need SEO, web designing, and internet marketing skills.

Social media should also be considered. The content might need to be something that is highly shareable. However, though, not everybody uses social media. It's really up to the owner. I mean, there are other ways of getting and keeping an audience.

The best advice is to have patience, persistence, and dedication. Being a successful blogger takes time and a lot of content. The more time you put in, the better you get at writing, marketing, and all the aspects that make a great blog. So, you just have to do it and keep doing it.

Pick Your Topic

When starting a blog, it’s so important to have a focus. This will help you to brand yourself and will give you credibility! If you’re struggling to pick a topic, we always say to ask yourself, “What’s one thing I could talk about forever?” Maybe it’s fashion, florals, healthy recipes, or your photography business!
Scope Out the Competition

It’s no secret that there are millions of blogs out there, but don’t let this scare you! Out of these millions of blogs, only 5% of them are updated on a regular basis. So, if you’re serious about blogging, this can be to your advantage!

Once you’ve found your blogging niche, scope out other bloggers who are doing something similar to you. What do you like about their strategy? What do you dislike? Answering these questions can give you direction, and it can give you an idea of how to beat out the competition.
Claim Your Name!

One of the most important elements of blogging is your domain name! This is how people will search for you, and it plays a huge role in their first impression of you. So, make sure you choose a name that reflects your brand and is unique. The last thing you want is to get confused with another blogger because your names are similar!

Before settling on a domain name, it’s also important to make sure it’s available. We recommend using sites like NameCheckr, where you can check domain and social username availability across multiple networks! Also, it’s important to purchase the “.com” when available, as this is the most commonly used domain. If you find that the domain you want is already owned, Whois.com is a great source that will tell you who owns the domain. You can then contact the owner, and you might be able to work out a deal and purchase the domain from them!

Nowadays it's very hard to earn from the traditional methods like affiliate marketing and third party link sites. It's time consuming and takes away the fun in blogging. The best thing to do is to grow your authority. This would later on open doors for big bucks and gigs.
