Can you be an influencer for a living?

Hello people. I think we all have noticed how influencers have been gaining force in the past year. Some of them are making a lot of money only for working with social media marketing and sharing their lifes. But... do you think that can be a full time job? Do you think a person can grow as a professional by being a influencer?

You can probably make a living doing almost anything if you work hard enough at it, however, I think most of the people who have become influencers have gotten there through dumb luck, unless you are talking about people like the Kardashians who have kind of strategized their way to the top.

Yep, you are right kgord. I have same beliefs as you do. You can literally make a living out of anything if you're passionate about it and truly want it. Just look at some weird professions that people manage to make a living out of. It isn't easy to become an influencer though. You often need a large followers base and then start branding yourself to attract sponsorship deals. It will take time but you can 100% make a living by just doing that.

hahaha yes! I think luck it's a big part of their success too!.. But answering Goldlady question I'll say you can do it. You just need the "right" look according to social media and to choose the right topic. I don't think you could do it through your whole life because fame comes and goes so easily that I don't think you could expect it to last that much.

With the mention of dumb luck, I have to agree that there is indeed the so called x-factor which is the element that is unknown that can make one famous or very popular. I have checked on some famous celebrity actors and sports personalities on what they really have to be considered famous. I came up with nothing because it is the x-factor that is in the works. To be an influencer means you also need the x-factor that we do not know exactly how to have it.

If in influencer, you mean those public speakers and life coaches, I think it's not enough alone to be an influencer since there isn't much to earning from that alone. That isn't the case though if the person is selling books and merchandises though since life coaches here always talk a lot about saving money and ways to improve everyday lives by living simply. They write books about their ideal way of lifestyle and because they will promote it in their seminars, people will buy it. I think this is an important factor when considering to be an aspiring influencer.

Indeed. Nowadays it seems that anything can be a profession. You just got to know the right people and have the necessary know-how to make it work and everything is doable. Personally, it's not my cup of tea and I'd rather make money working than promoting some overrated lifestyle that's not even mine. Still, there is a taste for everything I guess.

Being a part of a social media site can make you a powerful influencer. It just depends on you on what you want to teach others and what you need from them. Social media helps in growing or falling a business, but this depends on you and how much you want from it!

I do not know whether I can be an influence to my blog friends but I did have a few friends who had been following my recipe blog for the latest recipes. The point is to know what your audience wants. Find the niche that people are looking for and who are your audience. My audience are homemakers, so I target on recipes, DIY crafts and home saving tips on money where my writings influenced them greatly.

I have found that it is possible to do living as an influencer. You can see that it all depends on how you are meeting the potential customer. I have found that even promoting the products to others can be taken as the living options. You can make some good money in this process. Though it's not going to be consistent income there. You just have to work with available set of options in that case.

Yes, why not. Actually, last night, we have just watched a show, where true stories are acted by actors and actresses and after the ending, the true person who sent the letter to be acted on, appears.
She was actually, someone very well known, for her rags to riches stories and how her blog site OH My Gosh , clicked and made her successful and rich , when she went to the US.
She's actually a Filipina, divorced and her very big and beautiful house in the Philippines was shown. What an inspiring story.

Yes you can, Im familiar with a few in the Fitness/health category who chose to go the Youtube route, and have been very successful. The thing is though that it's a very competitive market (good and bad), but in my opinion also a very open market for anyone to succeed in as long as you are highly skillful, have a good personality and offer something unique. The ones I'm familiar with have launched their own product/clothing lines, gyms, books etc. Just shows you that the possibilities are endless basically.

With the way social media is growing, being an influencer is certainly a way to earn passive income and become full time paying jobs. Influencer on youtube, instagram and facebook are raking in hundreds and thousand of dollars monthly just by sending engagement to organisations and businesses. So you should probably be considering that a way to earn a living.

I think I can not. I am a person who is satisfied to work as a background. A team player, not the leader or ringmaster. It is good to be one though.

I believe that if we work hard and fortune favors our efforts then we can earn from anything. It is a solid combination of the two that caters good results. Lack of any of the two can prove to be a waste of time, money and energy.

Yes. A few years ago could start building your own platform as a influencer without having to do an extraordinary effort. Nowadays, there's a lot of people trying to become and influencer for a living... competition is insane! Today is much more harder to have succes in this kind of job than ever.

Instagram is the place to do just that. I have seen people posting content on both Facebook and instagram. And there seems to be a lot of buzz with that. I can't say how good it is but if you can manage the instagram on the basis of the content. I guess it also depends on how the people choose to get paid for their skills. Some get paid through patreon these days. So being influencer is a good option these days.

You can definitely make a living as an influencer if you have the fan base, Luck is also important for this job. You need to catch the eyes of sponsors or make that one great post on social media to draw your attention. Once you get that 'moment', you need to keep being active and strategist your actions so that you remain relevant in the social media scene. Having a professional attitude is important when you get your first client so that you do not gain a bad reputation which will harm your chances of collaboration with other interested parties.

Yes, you're right. Lucky it is very important in this kind of job. It also seems like you have to do everything for people to like you, because if people doesn't like you then you just don't have the fan base.

I agree too with a certain look. It seems like you either need to be extremely beautiful or handsome or have a weird kooky look about you, that people respond too. Something that grabs people's attention, or you have to have a skill that shows like an excellent skateboarder, cook or something that stands out that people respond to.

Yes, definitely. We are humans and for some reason we follow those we look up to. For example, if you have a mom who was always happy, very outgoing, kind, caring, into her job and is independent, and everyone loved her then a gut feeling will just kick in and tell you 'Man, I want to be like her' and it will be an inspiration. Each day you will start seeing your mom being the happy independent woman she is and then you will work so you can be almost like her or maybe even better but since everyone doesn't have moms lets take a negative example. For instance, a drug free person gets under the influence of hanging out with toxic and drugged up people. Obviously, the drug takers will influence the drug free newcomer to try drugs and since majority of all people are easily peer pressure the drug free person will therefore take the drugs and ruin their body and whatever good reputation they had.

Any thing one has a passion for and is making money from can be done full time. This is quite possible in my green country especially now that we're in a recession.

I had read in one press release of the government’s information department that having 1,000 followers you can be considered an influencer. With the term, an influencer is someone whose post is not only read by a good number of followers but garner positive reactions in comments and in sharing the post. One actual example is a blogger named Mocha who has thousands of followers. She was hired by the government and is now an undersecretary in the information department.

Some influencers get paid big bucks to mentions a product in a video, write a blog, even for a single tweet. The only thing I have been able to do is to get some free products... sometimes fairly expensive free products,.But, to really get paid you really need to have a strong following that is verifiable as authentic.

I think so. I'm into Youtube nowadays and I've been following a lot of beauty gurus. Some of them make use of being a beauty enthusiast/influencer as a living. They have a huge amount of subscribers and views plus they sometimes get paid by some brands where they mention, promote and review their products. I think that being an influencer can become one's living when he/she is working hard to get all of the subscriptions and views needed. One must be confident enough and honest about his/her opinions and also they must have an authentic and enticing content which can help gather more viewers for more subscriptions.
