Google killed 1.7 billion ads and kicked 200 publishers in 2016.

Hey guys,
I found a rather interesting article recently, so I want to share it with you all. - Are you aware of this??

These 1.7 billion ads are more than double the amount from 2015.. And all of them are killed due to violations of the advertising policies. It's an insane amount of ads!!

Here's a little something from the article:

Ads for illegal products

Some of the most common bad ads we find online are ads promoting illegal activities or products. Although we've long had a policy against bad ads for pharmaceuticals, last year our systems detected an increase online. We disabled more than 68 million bad ads for healthcare violations, up from 12.5 million in 2015.

Similarly, we saw more attempts to advertise gambling-related promotions without proper authorization from regulators in the countries they operate. We took down more than 17 million bad ads for illegal gambling violations in 2016.

This is a very nice article. Thanks for sharing. Glad that Google is taking action against the bad ads as these ads can potentially make our website looks bad by having dodgy ads.

At least for me, I think that it should be very difficult to delete 1.7 billion ads!
That's a really crazy number!!! They use advanced automated systems to help with that right??

Oh my word that is just hectic. I was drawn to this topic because I have heard Google often just kicks people out and I really like my Adsense account! It took me ages to get approved.

I had no idea there were so many ads. Imagine 68 million bad ads. That is a crazy huge amount.

Thanks for sharing Andre, that is really interesting.

Isn’t that a lot of money to waste? That billions of advertisements could have earned more for Google. And we should appreciate the ethical policy of Google that they don’t tolerate illegal ads and other ads that border on ethical standards. At least we have a giant that has genuine compassion for the betterment of our society in general. That big money went to waste because of their no-nonsense policy on undesirable ads. That’s a great one.
