How to Cross Post on Medium

I just found out something really awesome a few days ago which I thought would be really cool to share here.

I have been looking at ways to not only increase my website rankings for my blogs, but also to gain more exposure for my blogs.

So I started looking into writing guest posts on other big websites. Now of course this is a little tricky in the way that I already have 3 of my own blogs and I struggle to keep up with writing for my own blogs.

When I came across Medium I researched how to use their website and they have a Medium Wordpress plugin, so when you publish content on your own website it will cross post the content to Medium if you want to too.

It states at the bottom of your Medium post that the content is originally posted on your website and the link is canonical so the SEO goes to your post.

Happy blogging!

Very interesting. I am still not sure if this would actually impact SEO or not. So you are posting a blog post with the option to transfer it to the Medium website. Would this in essence create duplicated content? Can other bloggers post the same article on their blog? See what I am getting at here? Would this be a benefit in terms of search engine rankings, or be a hindrance. Hopefully the search engines do not penalize authors for this, as they are sharing post.. Kinda seems like the share options on social networking sites, instead of sharing a social network post you are sharing articles.

Well I have just started doing it Everett and from what I have read up on it it seems to help SEO. Who knows, but I am trying it out.

I read a few articles that said because it uses a canonical url it does not have a negative impact on SEO. I am not quite clued up on canonical urls but I couldn't find anything that said it had a negative effect.

I think cross posting can be really good option for the Medium. You can see that posting on medium and then sharing it through the medium using zapier and the IFTTT is possible. I have seen some people doing it. But I don't think it'd be a good idea in that case to post. Because cross posting may get some traffic but it's not going to work out. As for the affiliate marketing it is not going to turn out fine.

I have been using Medium for years. My articles date back to 2014, The publishing tool is super easy! Not to mention the site, Medium, enjoys a good reputation. Publishing your content there lets you enjoy the benefits of that good reputation.
