Are you considering increasing your prices next year?

As the new year draws near, many think about what happened over the past year, come up with resolutions and things they would like to change or improve. As a freelancer, do you think that the start of the new year is a good time to increase your prices, considering that you sort of have an additional year to add to your experience? Or maybe just to try to make more profits in the coming year?

Definitely.
I have sold my services at slow price to gain maximum reviews. And in 2017 I am considering to increase the price of all my services. Lets see how that affects my overall revenue.

Yes it is a good idea to set prices a bit low at first. I wish you luck in getting sales even when your prices are a bit higher, but it is a good tactic, which I used myself a few years ago. Buyers value reputation and ratings, and sometimes prefer to pay a bit more.

I have increased my prices a lot. For instance, one of my scripts was $45, now it's $149. It's over 3 times the amount of the original price. This is due to the fact that i am absolutely fed up with competing with sellers who price services for so low. They may live in a country where they can practically survive on a dollar a day, but I do not. So I raised ALL my prices to combat this. If I don't get any sales, that's fine, I don't want those clients. Are you considering increasing your prices next year?

I admire you for taking such a stand. My price increases have been limited to a dollar or two actually. I do agree with you that you cannot sell yourself short especially with the cost of living and daily expenses we need to deal with.

It's maybe a good idea to go trough list of services and adjust prices from time to time, same as what we do to offer some services "On Sale" or to offer some new discount coupons. If that is a common thing to do, then rising up prices to their fair level should be OK as well

I don't have plans set on how to increase the prices of works that I do for my clients. I mean I never had that in mind considering the fact that I have gotten to that stage where I have some kind of personal connection with them and that is not what I'm thinking of giving up simply because of the price increase.
