Afraid of Crowdfunding.. - What to do?

Afraid of Crowdfunding.. - What to do?

Crowdfunding.

The title is somewhat skewed. I'm not really afraid of crowdfunding in the sense it might sound..

It was a few discussions earlier about Crowdfunding. How to do it, how to make it great, and how to succeed doing it.. - But, what I don't like, is the part where you'll have to "blow your cover" and face everything as the person you are. As the real you.

I mean, I have a few ideas and I would love to join kickstarter or something similar to get the funds I need to make this idea into something real. - But, I would also have to use my personal name and give away more or less everything about me as a person. My facebook account and whatever. Everything.

And I can totally see why, but I don't like the thought of it at all. Not for a second. - So is there anything I actually can do?

That's what I will leave you with. That's what I would love an answer for.

Best Regards,

I was going through the same thing a couple years ago, so I know exactly how you feel about this. It all boils down to the fact that you've been anonymous for so long online that it's difficult to show people the real you. I use variations of my Pen Name to have anonymity online, but I also use my personal name when someone sends a contact us email or ticket because it looks a bit more professional. Now I didn't do this all the time because I use to have people answer all my support emails for me. I would say that in the last 2 years I began to start taking baby steps to get my real name out there lol. I actually wish I started using my real name when I knew what the hell I was doing online so that I could be the next Rand Fishkin or Neil Patel Afraid of Crowdfunding.. - What to do? But I didn't start soon enough Afraid of Crowdfunding.. - What to do?

I would recommend taking baby steps like how I did with adding my real name to a signature of an email or support ticket to anyone contacting us through one of my websites. After a couple months you'll see that it's not a big deal at all putting your real name out there to people coming to your websites. I'm not quite at the point of putting my real name out there on forums, but that's my next goal lol Afraid of Crowdfunding.. - What to do?

Posting your real information on crowd funding platforms is definitely stressful because it's like you're opening up yourself to the world who is loaded with lurkers and you don't know what they're going to say. If you're worried about your facebook profile getting spammed with stuff, just edit your settings so people can only see your name and profile image (this is what I did). After that you can link your facebook page to your crowd funding campaign and not worry as much. You can also just link your campaign to your facebook page so you can still have a slight veil of anonymity. If you do go the crowd funding route, don't use a pen name or fake photo because it will make you look scammy and people won't invest. If you can't open yourself up, even a little, people won't trust you and they will hold onto their money Afraid of Crowdfunding.. - What to do?

I too have been pondering doing something crowd funded, but don't like the idea of putting the real me out in the open. Afraid of Crowdfunding.. - What to do?

Looks like you and me are the same then.. Even though we might have different reasons for it. - However, it feels like doing exactly that, is the only way of going somewhere with crowdfunding. And even though I personally understand the reasons for it, and why it's the best option, I still think it's a shame that I won't be able to do this, as long as I'm "afraid of failure" so to speak.. - So it's a tricky situation.

I want to get into this so bad its not even funny man i just don't know how or have the time to do it. I would be willing to put all of my information on the line for your cause in exchange you help me get my campaign going. I don't care about people knowing who i am my identity has already been stolen and i have the security measures in place now to make sure that does not happen again. If your serious about starting a crowd funded business i would be glad to help you im always looking for partners and new ways to make money. I can be your face if you will. If we can get 2 businesses funded we will be in good shape lol! Inbox me if your interested i live here on seocheckout lol im always online.

Oh, man, you got your identity stolen?! - That must have been awful.. :/

And yeah, I'm always interested, just like you, in more ways of making money, and even more now ever since I lost my biggest clients. Sure, I still manage to get by, but I want more than that. I don't have any goals of making several millions per year or something, but I do want more than I have today. Just like you, I live and breathe seocheckout, but I haven't sold any services on SC for a very long period of time. I handle most of my business directly with my clients, so there's no room to put those things on SC right now.. But I'm open for suggestions, both for services on SC but also elsewhere. Like a crowdfunding thing.

Don’t take this as a letdown for crowdfunding. I have seen the difficulty of crowdfunding that you need a popular name to be successful. Now, if you don’t want your identity known then that is a bigger problem. However, my suggestion is to get someone with a good name and a bit popular to handle the procedures for your crowdfunding endeavor. And at least that someone has the maturity and skills in handling such activity and also has a sense of responsibility.
