Mistakes that newbies do in internet marketing?

First time is the hardest they day and first comer in internet marketing do some mistakes. What are the common mistakes they make? What are some of the most effective strategies in online marketing?

I believe common mistakes are using traffic exchanges, everyone who uses traffic exchanges needs the traffic because they are not getting traffic from anywhere else so they need a quick fix and totally waste their time promoting on junk traffic exchanges. Most of the time the people using traffic exchanges are trying to make sales - but what they fail to realize is.. is that other people surfing are also trying to make sales, or just not interested in their product or don't care to buy it.

The best solution I find for online marketing is go where the people are. That would be Facebook / Twitter / Pinterest / Tumblr / Google+ - anywhere where there are over 500,000 daily users is a great place! Go to "Google top 100" to find these sites!

One of the mistakes that a newbie makes, which I have noticed, is over sharing. They believe that when you share over an over you will get more traffic to your website, or generate more sales. Sharing does not guarantee traffic and sales. In order to generate traffic or sales, your content/product also needs to be useful. Most of the time over sharing is consider spamming. You might even be banned for sharing too much. The rule of the thumb is when you are sharing your one content, you also need to share 3 contents from other people. When you share, always write a teaser and explain why the readers or potential customers to see this.

The first mistake is expecting quick money with very little work,so makes them quit too soon,I think newbies should always take time to acclimatize with what works before quitting.

Too much thinking about making money when they have just started is also a major mistake a newbie makes. A lot of people join internet marketing by taking a cue from successful online entrepreneurs who are making a lot of money. These newbies tend to believe that they also can make money quickly. However, what they don't realize that successful online entrepreneurs have worked for years to reach that point.

Spamming is my take on the mistake that usually a newbie doesn’t think about it as a mistake. When I was new in the blogging industry, I would check on other blogs and post a comment with a line at the bottom as an invitation to visit my blog. When my blogger learned of it, he said that it can cause me traffic instead of getting new traffic because that is plain spamming.
