What are some of the best places to get deals from on Black Friday?

Hi all! As you know, Black Friday is looming upon us this week! And every year, it seems to be bigger and bigger as the anticipation builds up to it. #Blackfriday has been dubbed the biggest shopping day of the year. This year Black Friday takes place on Friday 25 November 2016. Just 3 days from now!

What are some of the best places to get deals from on Black Friday?
So I'm just wondering if anyone here has any plans on where to go this Black Friday to score some good deals from? Will you be going anywhere? Some high street store or otherwise? Or will be you be mainly be looking online for deals only? I know that some big online stores like Amazon are offering up to 50% off kids clothing and up to 50% off some other merchandise including some electronics. And eBay will have a lot of deals on as well but they will end at literally 12AM Saturday. But what are some good online websites to check out for good deals this Black Friday? What are some of the best places to get deals from on Black Friday?

Also, will you be offering any Black Friday deals on your services for sale here? Is that something you've done before and seen some results/sales from and will do again?

Know Your Black Friday Shopping Rights!

Because more sales are made on this day, compared to any other day of the year, people will be frantically shopping around to find the best deals. But these deals don't just take place in-store. They also appear online as well. And a lot of people can impulse buy without really knowing what they're getting into. So I've decided to put together a list of things you should know BEFORE you purchase that great deal!

  • Shopping online: Always make sure you're buying from a reputable site that uses SSL encryption. Avoid strange payment methods like bank transfers. Put all purchases over $150 on your credit card. Your card issuer will offer you some extra level of protection if it turns out you was scammed.
  • Faulty goods: You have 30 days to get a refund under the Consumer Rights Act if the item you purchase is faulty/damaged. You can still open a claim for it to be repaired or replaced if it falls within the warranty period.
  • Returns policy: Most online stores provide a 14 day window for returns for goods you don't want. But some high street stores can differ in the window they offer. Some stores may accept a full return and refund even without a reason. But some wont as it depends on the store and may offer you an exchange or a credit note instead.
  • Doorstep theft: Never let a delivery man leave a parcel on your doorstep. Not all retailers and merchants will refund you if it's left in an unattended place. Make sure they put a note through your door or leave them instructions to leave it with a neighbor.

Black Friday Smart Shopping Tips

And rights known and understood, here's also some Black Friday smart shopping tips and tricks for all of you eager Black Friday shoppers out there!
  • Subscribe first: Check to see if you can subscribe to a stores newsletter BEFORE shopping on their site or in store. Most times they provide even more deals and coupon codes and you'll get first dibs on any new deals they release.
  • Avoid the crushing: Why go out and get trampled when you can stay in and shop from the comfort of your own sofa? Why lug around large TV's and other stuff when you can have it delivered to your door? Avoid the tramples! Shop online instead!
  • Make a list: Think about the things you need and not the things you want and make a list of those things. Then check out the sites that have those things and see if you can get them as part of their Black Friday deals!

Okay that's my Black Friday rights awareness and shopping tips said! What other Black Friday shopping tips do you know of that should also be said?

Enjoy the bargains people! But do stay safe!

Thanks

Mike.

Thank you Mike. Black Friday isn't really a thing here in Sweden and honestly speaking, I would probably never go in to a store on Black Friday. It seems like there's a bunch of crazy people released from the nearest insane asylum and all of them have set their eyes on the same targets. - I've heard so many stupid things about it so no thank you. I would literally be afraid to go in to a store during Black Friday.

I prefer Christmas shopping. I'd rather spend a bit more money for the same products than get shot by a lunatic. Online shopping is like a gift from the above. I can sit here in my underwear and with a click of a button get bargain deals. That's my kind of thing. What are some of the best places to get deals from on Black Friday?

Thanks for sharing though!

Black Friday is only something that I see online, not in the shops here in South Africa. For us Friday is just another day!

That said I have seen how frantic everything gets online, there are loads of crazy online sales. I can say one thing, when I can buy online I always do. I would love to even have my groceries ordered online and delivered but unfortunately I am living in a bit of a small town that does not offer these modern day luxuries.

Anything I can get delivered means one less thing I have to get shopping with kids...and I can promise you that each little thing counts LOL. I really detest shopping when things get frantic, I would much rather sit on my couch like you say!

I am looking forward to Black Friday so as to see if I can grab some deals especially for christmas gifts. I am a bit on a tight budget and I do hope I will manage to find nice gifts for my loved ones next Friday thanks to this event. I would not dream of going physically to shops as I hate crowds and queues. However I am planning to check out a number of sites so as to do the shopping online. I have a keen eye on zavvi.com, as they generally have some really good deals on DVDs, boxed sets, games and gadgets.

I don't get the people crowding like that in physical stores. Are the sales THAT good over there? Because, here not so much, every physical store also have an online store and the prices are the same both for the real stores and the online ones so people have no reason to riot like that for a few items of clothing.

I also bought a couple of things this Friday, nothing important and nothing over the top in terms of "sale" and "good price".
