New Megaupload 2.0 Will Be Based On Bitcoin Technology

I am pretty sure that most of you've heard about Megaupload, and even use it when it was active. For those who don't know about it, Megaupload was a free file hosting website where you could upload and share your files, same as Dropbox and many other file hosting services that are today.

Megaupload was launched in 2005, and in 2011 its servers and all files got seized by US due to some copyright problems. After that Kim dotcom the owner launched a new service called Mega, again a file hosting website.

Now probably you'd ask what's the interesting part here...The interesting part is that Kim Dotcom , announced that the new Megaupload 2.0 is coming back in january 2017 and it will be based on bitcoin technology.

Kim Dotcom's comment :

Every Megaupload 2.0 file transfer will be linked to a Bitcoin micro-transaction. The payments are microscopic but the mass of transfers and users will create a giant pool of wealth that can be distributed to publishers, content owners and uploader.

What are your thoughts on this?

Will you use the new Megaupload?

I used mega upload back when it was a file hosting/exchange site. I have been following Kim dot com for awhile now and im excited to see this topic come out. He was a billionaire before the US confiscated his assets and froze his accounts. He is still fighting extradition to the USA and im hoping that his new site will help him stay away from America. Whats going top happen when he launches this? I assume the price of Bitcoin and other crypto currencies will go up due to the amount of transaction that will be done during this time. I think this is great for the digital currency for sure! Will i use it? For sure! i think its a great tool for the block chain and a new innovation for the world. If lightning launches at the same time im pretty sure we will see the surge in price that we have been waiting for.

This sure sounds interesting, thanks for sharing!
I had no idea about this at all, and I can't say that I ever used Megaupload frequently.. But I truly believe it'll be a ton of people using Megaupload 2.0 due to the BTC transactions. - I just wonder how everything will work out. It sure sounds like any could earn or take a piece of the pie so to speak, even though I personally feel it sounds a bit odd, but it might be worth to take a look at!

I still don't fully grasp the concept of Bitcoin and I never used or heard of Megaupload.... yes I know I'm slow...

But this sounds interesting and I am sure like Jkeyz2 has also said that this could really impact the value of Bitcoin. It is quite exciting that's for sure.

    Keep us posted!

So wait, MegaUpload 2.0 won't be free to use? Because I remember it to be pretty free to some degree. Are you tell me that only with paid transactions that are done with BTC will you be able to use MegaUpload 2.0? Because that kinda sucks and not they'll lose a huge portion of their past users.

" payments are microscopic" - well that depends on how microscopic, we need more details here, will it be based on file size or just number of files uploaded?
