What do you do offline in order to get clients?

So I've been going over plenty of ways to obtain new clients and a lot of the methods are through PPC, Online Marketing and Social media. I want to get offline and find some clients who aren't actually looking for my service, but need it desperately.

Do you know of any ways to find businesses that may or may not own a website and would need online marketing services?

I have a few ideas, some tested, some just in the beginning brainstorming stages.

One method I was thinking of trying to get together is finding where a ton of local businesses are listed like in a directory or something similar. After that I would contact each business via phone call and see what their thoughts are on search engine optimization and online marketing. If they said they weren't interested then I could explain to them why it's so important to be doing these things for their websites in order to bring in more sales. Usually when I've talked to businesses like this in the past I can get them to sign up for smaller SEO and marketing packages but they only stay signed on for a few months because they don't see the benefit. It doesn't matter if I explain to them that SEO and Online Marketing is an ongoing thing and will bring in plenty of profits if done over time.

Another way I was thinking about getting some SEO clients was to do some kind of crazy offer like "Refer a friend who signs up for a year contract and get FREE online marketing for 6 months". This way people could reach out to their friends and family who own businesses and get them to sign up. Similar to an affiliate system but I don't have to pay them lmao What do you do offline in order to get clients?

Do you guys and girls have any methods you use to generate offline leads and get new clients for your business?

Thanks,

Razzy

Razzy I think cold calling from a directory list for SEO services would be a nice way to gain customers. I don't think this would suit every type of business though. I tried some cold calling before when I had my online baby store and it didn't yield great results. Yes it gave some results and maybe if my products were more high end where I made more profit per order it would have been very lucrative for me.

I do think making an offer of a discount for referring other people is a great idea. Everyone likes a discount and the bonus is if you do get really good results for them they will make some really awesome referrals for you I'm sure!

I once published my ad for three days in the local newspaper. Got a couple of calls, two of them actually materialized into decent projects.
Problem was, the clients were all in their 60s and they didn't quite understand the whole "internet thing" just yet so I was doing a lot of teaching too. So I stopped doing newspaper ads, old people are really difficult to have as clients in the online marketing business.

This is the only way I've tried getting clients offline. I also got a lot of people coming to me by word of mouth, I was getting recommended by family and friends so I basically didn't promote myself, still got offline clients nevertheless.

When I started out at the firm that I currently work with, I had in mind the plans on ending monthly text messages to them all in a bid to remind them of the amazing services that we offer at the firm. That worked out for I was able to get some old clients coming back to the firm to get our products and services.

Pardon me if you find this comment negative. I don’t think there is a better way to get clients for your online business than online promotion. Over here, it is possible to put up a tarpaulin in the streets to promote your business. But the fact is, how many online users would read your tarp? Worse, most of those who had seen your tarp don’t go online. Anyway, my best bet is the social media. If you have an online business then it is imperative for you to have a social media account that is active. Use that for this purpose.

Definitely, no matter how many billions of people that we see online or are registered online, they're also billion of people that are yet to register online on any platform.Taking a look at my family alone. Most of my relatives aren't online. So I take my online to them, explain how these things works and they patronize me if need be.Selling or being an affiliate is a sure way to find clients outside the internet, You could still convince them to buy and creating an account for them wouldn't take more than some minutes and one is done.
