Is email marketing still applicable nowadays?

It seems to me that email marketing is a method that is being avoided or not made good use of by many. Many seem to think that it is useless, and that emails simply get filtered as spam, or that recipients delete them as soon as they get them. But I do not think that this is the case if one makes sure that a proper email marketing campaign is devised and that these aspects are seen to carefully:
1. The title.
2. The timing to send the emails.
3. The content and what is being offered/communicated in that email.

In conclusion I believe that Email marketing should not be avoided, or substituted by social media marketing, but rather, one should make good use of it by aiming at increasing retention and open rates. What are your thoughts and suggestions?

Yes, I believe it is still applicable, however I am unsure if it yields the results that you may want. I mean if you have a loyal audience that wants to receive your emails than of course it may work. But if you have a new website, and there isn't really much traffic to the website, and not many people subscribed to the newsletters than you could see how it wont be very good. Generally, I mostly wait to enable the option for the traffic to subscribe to the site by email after it has gotten either X amount of traffic, or people request to get newsletters.

Depends on your target, but I would say Yes, if done right it may be applicable to most campaigns on most niches.

Email marketing is not in fashion anymore although I think it is still somehow applicable. Depending on the kind of email you send, the creative aspect and the contents, your email may have a higher probability of being read and being responded to. But for an easier marketing approach, I guess social media is the best way to do your marketing. It is free and easy, so to speak. And in case you have lots of active friends and followers in your social media account then you may hit the jackpot.

Email marketing is still applicable, but to be truly effective it needs to be highly personalized and/or action based. Of course, just like snail mail, companies are always going to use it and they will always be those who use the wide net approach. But, it is kinda like telemarketing. The average person is going out of their way to avoid it and it just doesn't work like it once did.
